I'm using a laptop
32-bit, Vista
AMD Turion 64 x2 Mobile Technology Tl-58
2GB ram

Navyfield is installed in the default folder, SD enterNet
No compatibility
Clean install

I've had this problem ever since hackshield was implemented. Whenever I click "play game" on the navyfield launcher, hackshield runs and the bar fills up. Then navyfield runs, but it just shows a black screen for a few seconds before a windows error pops up saying "navyfield.exe has stopped working."
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok first off you should set the compatibility as follows

In the launcher set the following to disable
Visual Themes
Desktop compression

try that and see if it helps.

If not you have 2 options

1 try it using Win98 settings
2 set the display to 256 color

try each one separate and see if it works and report back

No luck. I also tried them together but that didn't work either. I appreciate the help though. Is there anything else I can do?

Well Darn can you check if there is a crash report in the NF directory? will end in ".rpt"
If so copy and paste the contents here
