I have been playing this game on and off for what it feels like a year now.  I realize that a lot of what I’m going to post here has already been posted at some point and time.  Still I feel compelled to say SOMETHING as I am an active member of the NF community.

First off, this game is awesome!  It’s unique, fun, and extremely addictive.  It takes skill to master, and time to level.  Honestly in regards to game design, I have no suggestions what-so-ever.  The platform in my opinion is perfect!

However there are few annoying things that I’ve experienced with Navyfield:

1) Crashing happens all too frequently for a game of this age.  My computer is well within requirements, so what gives?

2) Some elements in the game doesn’t appear to be working properly.  For instance; when I go to transfer my experts to veterans, more often then not I get a failure message and I lose my experts.  Is this intentional?  If so why?

3) SDE needs to come out with an official guide for Navyfield.  When I say official I mean in depth, well organized, so that it can be easily referenced.  All aspects of the game need to be explained in detail, such as the armor rating system, crew boosting system, and etcetera.
I realize there are websites that have a lot of this information out, but if SDE comes out with an OFFICIAL guide that I could buy.  That helps me because now I have a book that explains my favorite game, and it helps SDE because I paid for it!

4) The ability to form and maintain fleets in this game is one of the most appealing aspects; however like most MMO’s I’ve tried it falls short of my expectations.  As everyone here knows, in GB’s you don’t get to choose your team mates.

There is no real sense of teamwork in GB’s.  And that’s because there is no in-game voice chat system, and people generally won’t type a message to their team mates while they’re trying to range an enemy ship.

So what are the possible solutions for this problem?  Here are some suggestions!

a) Design an in-game voice chat system for the Great Battles, this will make it easier for players to strategize together!

b) To encourage friendly competition between any two fleets, you should start offering experience points to rooms opened in the “Clan Area” on the map.

And if you haven’t already, you could also use that area for events that will

encourage fleet involvement by offering more XP in the Clan Area then GB’s

in the Battle Area. (For a short time of course.)

c) Make the Communications Officer more useful to players, by making it possible to join the room your friends are in through the in-game buddy list.  Also it would be a great help if members of a squadron could automatically join a room that any other squadron member is in by activating the feature somewhere in the fleet tab.  Why do this?  Because clanning in any game means that you should play together!

1) Right click your navyfield.exe files, go to properties then compatability. Then select windows 98/ME mode, disable visual themes and disable desktop composition. Run the program as admin too.

SDE are working on the crashing issue, check the latest update in General Discussion.

2) Its intentional; Its easier at low levels and low vet amounts, but it is meant to be hard to get high amounts of veterans, with a cost if it fails.

3) The issue is, most of the guides are done by the players, as is most of the research into how the game works. There isn't a single person that has the time to be able to do it, and any SDE made guide on the website is usually substandard. We have asked for a wiki, but it has been denied. Thus any guides are hosted outside of NF.com, such as on http://www.opennavyfield.com or http://www.nf-guides.com. NF Guides is hosted by SDE now after the player who made it left the game.

4) I love all these idea's; However, there needs to be an area with exp turned off so that vet death is off too for League games. You used to be able to play with fleetmates in GB's, but now you are not allowed to change the teams around when you host.

5) I would love more escort controls, and the ability to switch to your escort if your main ship dies. I would also like escort exp, but at a higher credit cost.

6) General Crew; To be honest, I think it would be a bit too much like buying your way to win.

Honestly; I think you would be better served putting 3, 4, 5 and 6 as in different suggestion topics :)

5 would be too OP if you could own more than one APA

6 would not work because of the sailor abilities. The BO reset does not change the fact that he is a BO just the shipline which is not relevant to ability.

5 wouldn't really be OP'ed because the autosplit mechanism counts it as a ship and thus will balance it compared to the other team. Obviously for better AI escorts/exp gain you would have to pay FAR more credits.

In regards to your comment on (5)...huh? I am not talking about controlling the ship like you do your main. And whatever you mean by more then one is COMPLETELY out of context. I just feel that being able to tell your escorts to attack a target, and control where it's going only makes sense. Having it drive around you in circles doesn't make sense. (Keep in mind this game is considered to be a simulation.)

(6) - Again....huh? It would work! When you're starting out, you're a noob. As such you are prone to make "Noobish" mistakes. Such as in my case; Advancing a Support Sailor to Second Engineer when I intended them to be a Repairer. So really all I'm asking is the ability to go back and change that! And in regards to the BO reset, IT IS RELEVANT, because that is what enables you to use a certain ship in a line!

So if you can change that with olives how is that really any different from what I'm asking?
**That question is ret oracle, no reply needed!**

A separate suggestion for this where you can cancel a class if you have done it that level?

You're right, your way of putting it is better.
