I have been playing this game on and off for what it feels like a year now. I realize that a lot of what I’m going to post here has already been posted at some point and time. Still I feel compelled to say SOMETHING as I am an active member of the NF community.
First off, this game is awesome! It’s unique, fun, and extremely addictive. It takes skill to master, and time to level. Honestly in regards to game design, I have no suggestions what-so-ever. The platform in my opinion is perfect!
However there are few annoying things that I’ve experienced with Navyfield:
1) Crashing happens all too frequently for a game of this age. My computer is well within requirements, so what gives?
2) Some elements in the game doesn’t appear to be working properly. For instance; when I go to transfer my experts to veterans, more often then not I get a failure message and I lose my experts. Is this intentional? If so why?
3) SDE needs to come out with an official guide for Navyfield. When I say official I mean in depth, well organized, so that it can be easily referenced. All aspects of the game need to be explained in detail, such as the armor rating system, crew boosting system, and etcetera.
I realize there are websites that have a lot of this information out, but if SDE comes out with an OFFICIAL guide that I could buy. That helps me because now I have a book that explains my favorite game, and it helps SDE because I paid for it!
4) The ability to form and maintain fleets in this game is one of the most appealing aspects; however like most MMO’s I’ve tried it falls short of my expectations. As everyone here knows, in GB’s you don’t get to choose your team mates.
There is no real sense of teamwork in GB’s. And that’s because there is no in-game voice chat system, and people generally won’t type a message to their team mates while they’re trying to range an enemy ship.
So what are the possible solutions for this problem? Here are some suggestions!
a) Design an in-game voice chat system for the Great Battles, this will make it easier for players to strategize together!
b) To encourage friendly competition between any two fleets, you should start offering experience points to rooms opened in the “Clan Area” on the map.
And if you haven’t already, you could also use that area for events that will
encourage fleet involvement by offering more XP in the Clan Area then GB’s
in the Battle Area. (For a short time of course.)
c) Make the Communications Officer more useful to players, by making it possible to join the room your friends are in through the in-game buddy list. Also it would be a great help if members of a squadron could automatically join a room that any other squadron member is in by activating the feature somewhere in the fleet tab. Why do this? Because clanning in any game means that you should play together!
