Plane circling/altitude glitch:

When my FPs are on station circling at low/mid altitude, if they move to engage target and shoot it down, they should return to previous altitude - not max altitude.  What happens is enemy AA just slaughters them. The game AI should not overrule my standing order to plane regarding altitude.  This is really a bug.

Possible enhancement: When planes are circling more than 10? seconds, let them randomly adjust altitude to make it a bit harder for AA.

Yeah this was already suggested.. But thats why you have to control your fighters!

When they shoot something down, move them and they wont go back to 100. or hit the lower alt key to stop them from going back up.

CV drivers have a lot to do.

BBs just drive and shoot. Drive and shoot. Drive and shoot. Complain. Drive and shoot (I know - I drive a BB too).

Of course CV should control planes, but imagine he has 3-4 sorties out, and he is clicking to load new planes, and there may be a sub on him, and his dbs are almost over target, oh crap don't forget the rocks, push those northern fps through fighter screen, enemy dbs headed for flagship, redirect second sortie, ... ... ...

I already GAVE THE COMMAND for fps to fly at certain altitude. The AI should not change that. If my planes are at max altitude and under enemy aa fire, its over in a few seconds.

I can't say I've seen this problem myself with my CV.

my FP stay at whichever altitude they were engaged at, until I either manually move them back up or they go chasing after another attack and move to that altitude.

are you using Manual or Auto for your planes?

I do get this with my TBs, but only after they make a drop and return to ship. but that's normal.

First, if you're talking about decreasing altitude, FTs have no "auto".

Second, if you cancel the TB run in auto, they still return to 100 alt.

CV drivers just right click all the time, while changing their plane height. You must be CONSTANTLY changing your plane height. BB play is far more complicated that drive and shoot.

I know because I have played both competitively.
