CV ship/plane control

There should be an easy UI mechanism so that player can differentiate between ship and plane directional controls.  This happens when 1 or more sorties from a previously selected group of planes has been destroyed, but the player continues to maneuver them.  The game AI reverts to ship control if the plane group is no longer available. In almost every game, a CV driver mistakenly commands his ship to charge the enemy when he in fact though he was directing his planes.  We have all done it.  Sometimes we correct it in time, but often the CV is sunk and game becomes unbalanced for no legitimate reason.

CV drivers already have a lot to think about.

Perhaps the control algorithm should disable ship command in cases where the most recent selected group has been been one or more plane units.  The player would have to explicitely click on ship to reactivate ship controls.

Also, there could be a ship or plane icon that gets highlighted to indicate which type of unit being controlled.

not just that but alot of times when I try to control my ship it thinks I want to control my fighters even though I clicked my ship several times

Actually, there is something that let you know if you are controlling your planes or your ship .

If you are controlling your planes, the mouse pointer should be red.
If you are controlling your ship, the mouse pointer is golden. (or gold, I don't know what is the proper word)

its not that I dont know its that sometimes it doesnt want to deselect my fighters so i have to spam click to deselect them

If you want to select your ship instead, just press G. If you want to select another group of planes, press their number. Like that, you won't ever need to deselect your fighters.

And anyway, that wasn't the point of Filimon.

Thats ok except for when I used my mouse to select multiple sorties and one of the sorties has been destroyed.

My main point is that we need to think of ways to make driving a CV a bit more easy and rational and realistic. This is obviously a BIG problem since it happens almost every game due to same cause.
