Guidelines/Markers - After a turn, my aiming guidelines become disassociated with the point of impact markers.  This is VERY OFTEN an unneccessary problem when in a hard manouvering fight.  I shouldnt get screwed over because I press 'G' and zoom to some far flung point on the map nowhere near battle.

Agreed. Old suggestion to point G to the ends of the guidelines and not the markers. Good thing you brought it up again.

I did this back on the old forum. I still would like to see this happen, would allow for a lot more maneuvers if the user could rotate and not worry about skewing his 'g' guidelines.

To be honest, you should learn to adapt to it. Why make the game easier?

It is part of BB play to get someone to shoot at you mid turn near the border so that part of their salvo is away from their guidelines to mess them up. I don't see why it is good that making the game easier and taking away a difference between a skilled and unskilled BB driver.

There is a difference between skill and a game glitch. I think we are discussing different issues. When I change direction, even if my guidelines (guns) are pointed in the correct direction, if I press 'g' to zoom in on target, a glitch in system sends me NOT to the point of previous shell splashes on my guidelines, but rather in the complete opposite direction away from my ship, away from the battle, to the open ocean at the other end of the map.

This isn't skill.

This is a glitch.

It is just something that should be fixed.

The 'g' zoom to target zone feature should zoom to the target zone (guidelines, impact splashes) and not some other place just because your ship changed directions.

Actually it isn't a glitch. The shell markings are made in relation to your guidelines. If you move them after you have fired and before they have landed, it will obviously mark elsewhere.

What has happened is that you have moved your guidelines to the opposite end of your ship after firing, then you have moved them back afterwards. Naturally, the markers are on the opposite side, thus it points to the other side of the ship.

Maybe implement another hotkey that allows users to snap the view to the end of his/her guidelines and pressing again will snap back to the ship. Contrast with the functional key G which switches from point of impact and the ship.

I strongly agree that many times I get sank by other BBs just cos when I did a turning manuvre and by pressing G my view goes to the other side of map. It takes time to scroll the screen to the enemy ship and that few seconds are pretty crucial in fighting.

I don't get how having the G key not move the view to where your shells will land is a feature that encourages skill and not an annoying product of sloppy design. Enlighten me.

Taking skill out of the game is bad, and SDE does it all the time, but you can go too far.
