  • Should SDE start advertising Navyfield?

In the years that I have played this game, I have never seen an advertisement on any gaming website that I have been on. Now, there could have been advertisements, but I haven't seen them. The only way I heard of the game was through word of mouth via a RL friend.

Honestly; I really think something needs to be done to increase the amount of players; because otherwise the servers will die. We need a bigger playerbase; Not only for this version of NF but if it comes out, the new version of NF.

Does anyone have any idea's on how the profile of the game can be raised? Where should SDE advertise? How should they advertise?

And finally, a shameless plug for a suggestion that I would like people to recommend:

Hopefully, the combination of this thread and recommendations from the suggestion should do something positive. Sure, the game can improve, but we are all playing/have played for a reason, right?

They should have been advertising this game for years. I personally found the game via a youtube video.

If SDE want NF2 to be a success they should not call it NF2 nor advertise the current NF. The less attention drawn to this bug-ridden pile, the more chance NF2 will have of success.

So if there is going to be another Navyfield in the near future then should focus on that - if not, then I guess they should try to squeeze as much out of this one as possible, and advertising to get new players certainly couldn't hurt.

I honestly can't believe the number of the land based similar game I'm not allowed to mention adverts there are. Everywhere you look it is advertised, the irony that I can't mention it here.

Definitely agree with LJ about the whole aggressive marketing thing. It seems like it will be highly beneficial to not just the population base, but perhaps even SDE's profitability.

I am not 100% sure, but if i remember correctly, i saw a small NF advertisement on the right side at google, when i googled for an old SSI game called "Fighting Steel".
But i can totally wrong too.

I like Lucas idea. No one knows when NF2 comes out. Will it ever really come?
Many players quit playing NF, but many still loves it.
Some players are doing their best to make the game be better. Investing a lot of time and passion to balance the nations and all that.
So, a growing population would be a tribute to all of them. And they do deserve it!

Just my opinion.

A very good question.
Most people that I know who are actually play this game known this game back around 2000, I still remember there were ADs about this game when I was in high school in main land China,and are very interesting ones. However, I never saw a single one when I came to NA, and when I was trying to find this game on Google, it took me more than 10 mins to get the keywords right ( year 2008). Which leads to me to think why SDE won't even buy some more relative ADwords to at least create some awareness among their potential customers, navy funs. Maybe this game is too old, but it is still the best navy type online games that ppl could find even today. I could not agree more that better marketing activities will help SDE achieve higher monetary profits as result.

We should advertise it our selves. I'm sure quite a few of us play other games like Battlethree, World of stuffs, Call of somebody, etc. Talk to people there and get it going.
