Does anyone ever feel that: It's 4a.m. in the morning, you finally grinded that last 100k of experience for your next ship. You go into your shipyard , get the ship from the BO's tree and buy it. Whoosh, it's now sitting in your shipyard.
Ever think that that's a little anti-climactic? I mean, you were driven enough to spend so much time in getting to your next ship that you will stop at nothing short of some life threatening event. And at the end of it, it's just a couple of clicks and bam, you got a new toy. I've always been a little unsatisfied with that from my grinding days. So here's what I'm suggesting.
Either at selecting your next ship on the BO's tree or at the click after naming your ship (assuming it wasn't taken), a short and skippable cinematic is played, showcasing your new ship. Little shots from the side, the back and the front, you know? Make it so you realize, you just got something awesome after your long grind.
Doesn't have to be a spectacle with fireworks going off in the background or anything, just enough to make you appreciate what you have done to earn your advancement in the ship tree. And since it's entirely skippable, it won't be irritating for minor achievements like getting a new Frigate 02.
Low priority to total irrelevancy, yes. I only ask that it's kept at the back of the dev's minds for when they eventually iron out every other important problem in the game.
Sincerely, Ziro
