I am not a new player although due to my pc the graphics in game constantly come to an halt, and I experience crashes alot. I am looking at getting another pc would you expect to get great performance (and more some as I wish this to last an while although understand I may need to add more RAM and such) within NF (with every graphical option checked) with these specs?
CPU = Intel Core I5-2400 Quad Core (3.10GHz, 6MB Cache) + HD Graphics RAM = 2 x 2GB Samsung DDR3 1333 MHz GFX = 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT430 HD = 500GB SATA 3GB/S (8MB Cache) ONBOARD NIC = Realtek® 8111E Gigabit LAN Controller ONBOARD SC = Realtek® ALC892 8-Channel High Definition Audio OS = Windows 7 64 Bit

I have 6 gb of ram and have no issues but the common crash every now and then, adding more memory will improve it for sure, but wont stop all the crashing, but will happen much less ( at least for me it did )

Cheers, I realise I won't be completely free from crashes, thats just NF, but I am sure that my current system is the main cause in problems. See this is my current system lol;
Pentium 4 Single Core 1.5GHz CPU 512Mb RAM NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX/MX400

Windows 7 - 64bit could be a problem because I´m having some issues with that OS. Like: Random crashes at start up or in game. Curiously NF crashes only in the first minutes (randomly). If not I can play for hours without any trouble. =S Just my thoughts: NF is not designed for Win 7 64 bit (yet).
Please tell me if im wr.ong =)

its not your computer thats causeing the lag, its the way the server communicates through the net with your game client, nothing can be done to solve the problem..
the only way to reduce the amount of lag appearance your getting is by disabling the effects so the client doesnt have to deal with too much info..
the game server sends data packets to your client, think of it as a bucket spilling water into a much smaller bottle, only so much information can be poured in at once, and thats why your seeing lag. a better machine will not solve your problem. its server and client side,, the whole game needs completely overhauling to fix the inherent lag issues.
to resolve some of the lag follow some of these tips -
turn off none essential graphics effects in game such as smoke, aaw, fire effects, hit effects,particle effects, dmg effectsl, also turn off extended sounds too and disable ingame music.
the less your client has to deal with the faster and smoother the game will seem to play.
its nothing to do with ram or video cards or cpu or power supply units.. its all down to inadeqaute programming.. when the game was first orrriginally released it wasnt a problem as there wasnt as much data being transfered. but since the adding of new fleets harbours new ingame items and tweaks which complicated the games data and effectively made it larger, streaming issues are starting to occur and thats whats wrong.
dont go wasteing your money on super computers for this game, it wont make the slightest bit of diffrence. the closer you are to the servers the better the game will play for you.
the system specs for this old old old game is incredibly low. an amd k6-2 is more than powerful enough to run this game running at a meage 266 with 128 meg of ram. infact an integrated video card would probably run alot smoother than a top end card due to the fact a top end card would have to try and slow down to play the game.
the only thing this game has a requirement for is a broadband connection faster than 56k oh yea and electricity!!!
so please buy a new computer for better reasons :)

I do hope your not refering to me, well because your wrong. My old machine was very old, screen was locking up during gameplay and startup without any extra graphical settings within OS, GPU or NF, this was not lag through networking but rather just not being enough CPU and RAM (everything within task manager was always within the 100's). I've recieved the new one now (also NF is not the sole game that I the old machine was ruinning for me, I've lusted over Battle of Britain: Wings of Victory since 2008 but never had a machine fast enough to use it upon) and is perfect no lockups or anything alike, gotta get used to this new mouse and keyboard though lol wont be broadsiding straight for a while lol.
