  • Lag/low fps problem with windows 7 64-bit

One of the PCs i play NF has horrible lag issues and i dont see a reason why, restarting game and rebooting didnt help, most of the time the PC just ends up completely freezing and i have to use task manager

The specs are:
Windows 7 64-bits
dual core AMD X2 @ 3.00 GHZ
3.00 GB of ram
ATI Radeon 3000 graphics
not sure of connection speed, I know its cable that gets 2 mb/s download speed

Anyone know why there would be any reason for NF to be lagging/having a slow frame rate? I know this PC is easily capable of running it because my laptop runs it on a core 2 duo @ 2.1 ghz and a intel 965 chipset and 4 gigs of ram on vista.

*Edit* I run the game in compatibility mode with XP service pack 2 and as administrator

Its in C:\Program Files\SD EnterNet

JUST Program Files not program files (x86) Any reason that compatibility mode and installation folder would make a difference?

The compatibility mode was exactly what was wrong i guess, that fixed it

C:\Program Files is for 64bit programs if you are running a 64 bit O/S
C:\Program Files (x86) is for 32 bit programs when running a 64 bit O/S

The compatibility mode setting should not be needed on Win 7 and by setting it as you had it was forcing the
system to run the game using only 1 CPU and allocating a lower amount of Ram
