  • Should the fleet penalty system be altered?

- Leave penalty as is - Penalty anytime a member leaves a fleet.

- Use new method - New fleet members receive 10 day wait period before able to participate in HA.

This is currently an active poll on the NF forums.

I can tolerate the current system because the Kaiser server doesn't have that bad of a merc problem.
However if there is such a merc problem like Nebraska maybe, idk.
I think it's more realistic if you just make the wait period 8 days for fleet
penalty when you leave a fleet, like rehor said in the polls thread.

I think it's rediculous for someone that joins a fleet having them wait 10 days before they can participate in a
HA. It's so out of this world because I think if someone is tagless for longer than a week, they will be penalized
for 10 days without being ablt to play a HA. Therefore if someone is tagless for a month+ they get penalized
because of this so called big merc problem.

Thoughts?

Rehor
I know what I think.

Had I thought it would have gone to poll so quickly I would have put it out there sooner.

How on earth is it ridiculous? It removes the merc problem for HA's, allows people to join in fleet chat and means that people don't need to suffer a penalty that forces them to be fleetless; especially when moving squads.

tl;dr

You are going to miss a HA anyway with the penalty, so having fleet chat and being able to play under the fleet tag is better than having none of them.

This.

The only downside is fleet hoppers that don't play in HAs.

Extend the penalty time is not going to fix the merc problem. Fleet leaders/squad leaders can always give access to some accounts that are already in their fleet to someone that is not in the fleet, in order to bring them into their FL/HA. People doing that all the time. So, what is the point to change the current system.

a merc will merc whether hes using hes account or an account given to him from the fleet leader of that fleet....

10day penalty is useless who cant wait 7days to join the fleet they want to be apart of?

I'm not sure if some of you are reading it right.

Just clarifying

1st option: to keep same, have 7 day penalty after someone leaves a fleet.

2nd option: for when a person JOINS he CANT play a ha for a 10 day penalty.

i completely get it but this wont stop mercing which SDE is aiming for.

Option 3 should be you can't join another fleet until x days (say 10) after you first join one.

Therefore you have no penalty if you have been with your previous fleet for more than 10 days and are just switch squads or the fleet disbanded. but if you are fleet hoping you will suffer penaltys.

I think this is how NFEU works.

The point of this penalty change is to remove the ability for fleets to mass-recruita/merc tons of BB6/CV6/SS5 accounts for an HA in the same week that they declared. If they choose to give account information for fleet accounts, then they will have no higher numbers of BB6/CV6/SS5 than they already had previous weeks/HAs. In addition to that, they also run the risk of ship setups being changed, or ships not being repaired on those accounts for future HAs (if those accounts are used specifically just for HAs).

Actually, if I remember reading it correctly, NFEU has a penalty where you cannot leave the fleet that you have joined for 30 days (unsure if you are able to be kicked from the fleet or not, but I don't see why that wouldn't be possible). Although this could potentially also help stop the Mercing for HAs, it most likely could be bypassed by Fleet/Squad Leaders simply kicking the mercs from the fleet so they can join a new fleet for the next HA...

I think this energy could be spent on fixing the lag....
Besides you wil never stop "mercs" fleets have to many extra accounts for people to play in...
