If you have more than ~2GB of ram and broad band internet, yes you can.

Next gen smart phones (iPhone 5 S and Galaxy S III) should be able to play NF if their OS would support it.

Great. The reason I ask is that my current machine, a 2005 dell Inspiron with 2.33 quad core, 4g ram and integrated graphics is now starting to struggle. The game will crash and the computer will hang after a few games. I can't even think about minimizing the game to check a website or all heck breaks lose and I'll have to hard boot the pc. I want a portable laptop, and NF is the only game I'll be playing so I don't want to get anything too bulky. Thanks

Nf will run just fine on just about anything from walmart purchased stuff to the hard core gaming machines...

however....

due to lag and problems with SDE's ISP im not even sure a specialty built nasa computer could run NF without issues right now.

most of NF's problems contrary to the belief of some of the mods and Gm's is not computer related, you might want to wait in buying that next computer if your only reason in buying it is so you can play NF and alt tab while waiting for a game to start.. just sayin
