Maybe a good idea, maybe not, you decide.
I am tired of being slaughtered by everyone on the board simply because I have not yet caught up to the level of their sailors. I know, I know, keep working till you can be like them. I just get frustrated sending out wave after wave of planes, just to have them get eaten alive by enemy fighters that stay there FOREVER.
When we had a similar issue, low level players getting frustrated and quitting because the massive torpedo wave wiped them out before they got to play, we got rooms with no torpedos. Simple enough.
I do NOT advocate rooms with no fighters, but how about allowing a max level other than 120? Maybe rooms that take up to 90? or up to 110? or 115? Not just for BO, but max level for ANY sailor on the ship.It would still be tough on lower evel players, maybe they just got too high for Blitz, now we have a whopping L61. Remember the frustration when your L61 fighters, in the LOCALS, were useless, because the other CV parked a couple flghts of fighters over you? Remember hoping they might follow your scout, so your fighters could get off the deck?
I know the BBs count on the fightrs to "give them sight"; won't happen if they can't get off the deck.
Yes, those whose lifetime is taking EBVEd lvl 120 FPs in and slaughtering everything anyone puts in the air may complain, but those others who are still trying to level sailors, or who just want to play might find it useful. Heck, I might be able to do something besides sending up scouts, bombers, low-level ftrs, even locals simply to get them blown away.
You really want to know why I don't play my CV much? simple, it cost me more to repair and replace planes and sailors after the battle than I get. Not just when I am on the losing side, almost every game.
I have to play my CA and my CL and my SS just to get enough points and creds to keep the CV flying.
The logic is there (or at least close) since there are already rooms that cannot be entered when specific levels are exceeded. The controls appear already to be on the room setup screen, if we decide that the room creator should be able to set it manually. Or set a range for levels; keep the default 1-120, but add a selector, max 60, max 90, max 105, max 115.
Lets give people learning to use a CV something to do other than feed the massive beasts for 3 minutes, then quit in disgust because they are out of planes.
