kita's were great tools to learn from, they dispensed "power ups" that you had to avoid and learn to manuver around. Torp dodging skills start in blitz and work up into GB's most seem to forget this very simple fact.
Also yes blitz is a poor map to learn on, you have a small sized map and players in low end BB's playing these small maps who think they can float around and not really have a lot to worry about most of the time.
However once they get in GB they get a rude awakening, hobbit war is NOT and will NEVER be a good map to teach other players how to advance in larger ships, lower ships maybe but still it has very little room and still the issue with some players being excluded from the "safety sandbar" it was not a well thought out map.
While i agree we should not FULLY blame the map, however it's poor design does lead to misconceptions and does not provide a very good platform to learn in.
