  • New patch in regards with the EBB Le Havre

I'm not sure if this was intended, but is the le havre no longer suppose to use the strats gun?, If so, then what was the point in getting the EBB in the first place if its just a slightly better lyon?

So you're saying, we (the players) are given novelty ships (for our enjoyment) from events, and that they have to be nerfed, thats pretty absurd. If you guys have to keep nerfing things to be balanced, I'm sure most of the players would be ever so disappointed.

At the cost of balance, you can't just leave them being overpowered. No bb1, bb1.5, bb2 lvl should be able to take on outperform a bb2/bb3
Hell, I will also be dissapointed because my Gneisenau is a rickrolled ship, but we have to be realist and do something.

Like the MN DB, tons of people, think it was the french novelty to have uber bombers, which was not the case.
Some people knew they were overpowered, and still go for it. Some people were nto aware and fell into the traop.

You say that we can't leave them being overpowered, I agree, but that was because the Le Havre was using the Strasbourg guns, which was taken out. However I'm still going to point out that the DP nerf was unnecessary as it won't be balance as compared to the other EBB2s. When the EBB2s first came out, based on GM's repsonses, the EBB2s were suppose to have more dp and the extra support slot. Here's something I dug up after a little bit from the topic when the EBB2s were first introduced.

"Clarifications for those who have been asking, based on support tickets the GMs
have answered to players...

- these and other EBB will not available for sale in the NF store. They're prizes only.

- you don't get your choice of old EBB or new EBB, you get one (1) new EBB.

- The ships should be 2 levels more than the one they're remodelling, or level 61
minimum. The ONLY other changes to them are +1 support slot and +15% DP."

In this case, the Le Havre is the only EBB2 that got its dp gimped from this patch and no longer has its +15% DP increase from the Lyon.

I can think of at least a dozen things off the top of my head that would be a better use of time than nerfing the EBB2/3s. Why should we not nerf them?
1) Not that many people recieved them
2) The % of the population that has them is gradually declining as more old players quit every day
3) Most people have long since leveled their crew past the point of the EBBs usefulness
4) They are not that good (when is the last time you got sunk by a Gneisenau '43 anyway?)

For everytime that someone gets sunk by an EBB (that some percieve to be overpowered), 100 people have been sunk by some other grossly overpowered content that has been around for years. I think you would make a lot more people angry than you would happy by nerfing the EBBS and that would be time you could have spent making a lot of people happy elsewhere. Granted, I am not a tester but seriously this should not be a priority even if it does make sense (which I do not think it does).

Funny, it seems that I find the word "contradictory" all over your post (no offense). If there was at least a dozen things that were more useful to be invested in, then why wouldn't those other things be looked upon first, and yet still, the only EBB, Le Havre, was affected.

As for your four points:
1) Not many people received them because it was suppose to be gotten from an event. (Making some feel special)
2) It's true that old players quit, but there are always some who come back and take a look at their achievements/possibly wanting to play their ships again. I'd be one of them, but I wouldn't be considered old as I only registered 3 years ago.
3) Lvling past the ship doesn't make the ship useless, I still see a handful of people play on their EBBs, I'm included. Why? Not for grinding and playing 24/7, but for the game's main purpose, fun and entertainment.
4) If they are not that good, then why the hell was it nerfed?

If you took a long break or even quit for a while, came back and hoped to play a certain ship as you remembered it and only found that it was nerfed unnecessarily, I'm sure you'd throw in a complaint or two, but since no one has mentioned this yet, I'm here doing just that.

If you trust the GM balancing, then you were trolled by all of them.

Look at how GMs screwed the sub patch, and the GMs that decided to patch the broken CV patch.

I'm not saying I trust the GMs, but that's something I vaguely remember and went digging it up just to show you guys, but that doesn't change the current fact that all the EBB2s have 15% more dp than their original counterpart, whereas the Le Havre only has 150 dp more than the lyon.

Either I did a poor job of explaining my point or you did a poor job of reading it. That was a list of reasons why EBBs, in general, should NOT be nerfed. (I am trying to agree with you). If the intent on the Le Havre was to bring it in line with the other EBB2s, then I am fine with that. The general idea of nerfing EBBs altogether (as richard suggests) I think is a poor one.

I'm sorry tom, but the way you put it, it felt awkward and it made it seemed like you were contradicting yourself. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I heard from a fleetmate it goes something like 44 knots now (speed capped) with Lyon guns. If that's the case, seriously drop it to 40 knots at least. It's as OP as SN BB3 used to be.

EBB3 should be at least better than EBB2.
