Had a folded metal chair leaning almost vertical against a wall fall over today for no apparent reason, I'm blaming the quake.
In Texas.

that tiny little tremble? give us a call when you actually get something worth getting excited about. even by West Coast standards, it's nothing compared to what's hit NZ, Japan, Haiti, South America, Indonesia and elsewhere over the last 10 years.

when it lasts for over 5 minutes, and it's a good 10x more violent. then you can say you've actually been in an earthquake.

Sweet- a natural disaster pissing contest!

All I need is a typhoon, a tsunami, and a volcano eruption and I think my collection will be complete.

PS- I'm glad everyone's alright; my better-half just left DC this weekend. Best of luck with Irene.

Eff all the places with natural dissasters, NE gets next to none except for cold winters. We do have quakes from time to time with active faults nearby and sometimes tornadoes or water spouts on the lake but its not like we have much that can kill you.

In Myrtle Beach, gtfo friday morning!

Glad that thing waited till my vacation ended to come in!

Sux it seems I'll eat weakened crap back home in Quebec.

Its true NE of america has few disaster. Mild thunderstorm for the most part, little risk of tornadoes (and when one appears, rarely over F1 or F2).

Freezing our arse off 8 months a year is a local specialty up in Canada tough.

We barely get earthqukes because we're not near an active fault line (or so we thought until now)

We never get hurricanes higher than a Cat1 (which are rare themselves) because the water is too cold

The mountains protect us from tornadoes (well at least for me because I live on Boynton Hill in Worcester)

Our blizzards aren't bad because we are pretty far south by Canadian and Mainiac standards

NE is the perfect place to live :D
