Quite literally.

(I had to cut the title a bit so it could fit. I apologize for the bad syntax)

Altough I won't lie, I got the inspiration from a certain someone, but I also think it would overall help that section to thin out spam and trolling.

I think the number of thread start on suggestion section should be limited to one per week or so/person.

My logic behind it, is to filter out the mass of "NERF XXXXXX ship!" topic that start, that are pretty much a rant of someone who just got sunk by such a ship, and the such.

The situation as I see it, the suggestion section is mainly a joke right now. How many of those were truly considered over the years? The only one I know of is Farazelleth's HA time chart.

Honestly, for every 1 truly tought off suggestion we get, we have 10 half tought line, born of a second frustration that contain more rant than idea. There is no backup, no explanation of the idea, just a "omg they should do this,  I'm so pissed off"

I like the idea of an open suggestion box, where we can all discuss the ideas, maybe even add to it, or get a better constructed idea in the end. But right now its not the case.

My solution I think would weed out a big part of those thread. How many really serious suggestions can someone come up with a week anyway? Over a year, the average is below one. Even more, if you do not take at least a few days to really think about it, how it would affect the game, why you think its an improvement to the current situation, you are not ready to post it.

If a week you have the brain working overtime and another idea pops up, write it down somewhere, start working on it. You don't have to post it right away.

Imo, if your idea isnt worth that week, if it isnt work a week of discussion and debate, if it isnt worth a week of thinking about it carefuly, and monitoring the people reaction to re-explain and reevalutate your point of view, I do not think its worth to be on the forum.

Someone still wants to post something on whim? They can do it. A week of silence after.

I won't hide I trolled a few of those suggestion I judged to be half tought and based on personnal wish rather than game-improving mentality, but that would also be reduced if less of those suggestions appear.

I see this suggestion about having a potential to eventually lessen the amount of new topics with already discussed ideas, a section where the main ideas would be easier to spot, and discussed as they deserve.

A section, in fact, that a GM could check out and take notes rather than try to avoid joking on his lunch watching it at lunch break.

On another linked idea to this forum : Have the possibility to organize the thread by # of recommandation, so obviously fail one fall back down and don't bother the real content.

I obviously know this idea can be circumvented by creating multiple accounts, but I think its worth looking at still.

Toughts?

Not hating, dude. Just saying it like it is. I actually thought they had banned "bumping" on the forums long ago, at least blatant "bump" posts. Are you saying that I am incorrect? Threads people care about and comment on DONT stay on top? Threads noone cares about or post in DONT go to the end? If it doesnt work that way, correct me.

Necro'ing a thread for the heck of it is something, bumping is another.

Bringing back a thread that you believe deserve attention is another. I believe its a valid suggestion, and that it deserved to be above all of altsein/leaderwolf "gimme SS5!" multiple threads.

Now do you have anything to add about the current thread subject?

And honestly..... you don't get a kick out of their whole schtick? That dude cracks me up nonstop, especially when he gets catty, funny as hell. It has everything you could want: Broken , mangled english, insane analogies and claims, requests for buffing SS of all things, lol. It's great.

Be as it may, he isnt the sole reason of the suggestion.

It would at least be polite to read the thing before discussing it, please.

As far as leaderwolf/altsein goes, in some case yes, it can be funny.

However he is also a big obstacle to serious discussion about SS/ASW balance, and tries to have any serious discussion locked. He is currently enjoying a 3 day ban due to spamming, flaming and death threats. Unless he somewhat comes back with another account. In any rate, that suggestion won't stop his flaming, but might stop the amount of ridiculous thread he post, then delete, then repost.

But saying that suggestion is mainly because of him would be giving him way more importance than he is worth.

Its main goal is, as written, cleaning the suggestion forum a bit.

I shouldn't ask but what exactly do you mean by that? If you ain't interested in discussing the suggestion, move along please. Otherwise, feel free to bring in your point of view about it. And please be constructive.

I'd very much like you to read the OP and should you post here again, discuss that. I want this thing back on topic, ty.
