As we heard, they has been released in Korea, but im going to show few different setups for IJN SS5.
If we are talking with 7 support slots, you should read this.
Speedy Setup:
-5x Engineers -1x sonarman -1x planesman -1x torpedoman -Bo
Note: with this setup, its the best to fight against BB's and very usefull against other ss's, since you dont have rear torps, its very importat you use, engineers, the overheat time its a very important factor, while you are maneuvering. it gives you better chance while turning, to counter attack, the enemy sub. Preferably, use + 12/10 engies or Elites, so you OT CAN last longer, put them at least 150 veterans BVE, do not take out any crew from engineers.
Note 2: you are fragile, this setup runs without armor, you can armor it but you have to spend alot of money to get the veterans increased, so it helps you to get the speed back, if you have 5 of them, you shouldnt have a problem with it.
Hybrid Setup:
- 2 Engineers/3 repairers or 3 engineers with 2 repairers -1 sonarman -1 planesman -1 torpedoman -Bo
Note: If you are looking for something less speedy, but you prefer to have a good repair rate but without losing too much speed, use this setup.Repairers preferably use them as Elite, the repair rate, as only with 1, its very good and you can repair very fast in no time. You are able to to take dmg and repair. You can put armor, but keep in mind the number of engies you are putting on, and based in the BVE, this setup its preferably good VS BB/CV. You can still fight against ss, but you better watch the subs that has the best turning.
Option 2
2 engineers, 2 repairers, 1 pilot sonarman planesman torpedoman Bo
Note: So, do you want to play something different? Keep In mind, you have to put planes, pilot and the ammo, that is going to cost you space, and that, you will have no space for armor, or low armor.But if you want more armor with theses setup, you have to more vets in your crew and take the rookies and experts away, preferably between 150-200 vets, like this, it will give you GOOD soft defense also, by super vetting your crew. Even if some sailors has cap, use the vets for SOFT DEFENCE. becarefull, once you are underwater, planes cannot land. If you surface, to bring planes back, keep in mind, you will be vulnerable to any incoming enemy subs. Depending how good engineers and repairers are, you still get good things, some of everything.
Which sailors can i take crew off?
-BO ( super vet, its optional, it should be fine with 130 vets, some experts and no rookies ) -Torpedman ( try to super vet it, preferably 150-200 vets, then remove all experts and rookies ) -repairman ( like i said, super vett it,, 150-200 vets, then remove all experts and rookies )
If you are going to take crew off from other sailors, dont touch planesman and sonarman. ( theses days, many subs have super vetted sonarman, for superior visibility ) Once you are detected, if you dont know how to handle that ss player, you are pretty much done. Planesman, under your own risk, this sailor helps to reload air quicker.
