If you feel you are being harassed by another player, take screenshots of it immediately and report it to us at TNF and we will handle the situation to the best of our ability, but if no TNF member is on, put the screenshots in the ticket and explain whats going on. (It may take a little bit longer with the ticket though, so just be patient if you choose to report it that way).

About the suggestion, I personally think it would cause some problems to have an ignore feature. People would try to ignore TNF members, some people would immediately ignore the player they borrowed stuff from to try to keep it.
Not saying its a bad idea however, but im trying to think of the problems something like this would cause.

You are a system ingeneer, so you would certainly be aware of the fact that ignoring a problem does not solve it. I mean like in a computer

In my opinion any /ignore tool si worst than useless, it's a menace to good ambiance, self control is way better.

As you said you are not a child so you would certainly agree that ignore someone because he acts badly is just like saying to kid to go to his room without an explanation of what he did wrong,
Better use the way everybody use in this game, you have the ticket option, which is someway like a police phone call (not 911, something more like a call to police station because there is a cat blocked in a tree) and ask for someregulation, the fact is you need evidences of what you are assuming, so we have a perfect tool, screenshots and warning to the other player.

And if you really are harrassed the person who was doing that takes more than just find another target and gets a real punition (2 days ban or like that) and if he goes on doing that his account can be blocked or deleted.

To learn to live with other is what we need, ignoring people wont help us.

Being an annoying f**k isnt against the rule sadly. And there are lots of ways to be one without bashing or spamming.

So not a problem per say, more of a nuisance. An annoying, buzzing sound in your head you'd very much like to tune off.

How does not having an ignore function would change someone who had an intention to scam? They'd just ignore it themselves, and TNF is clear that they won't do crap for the scammed player anyway. As LJ said, have the TNF members a status that makes the system unable to ignore.

Does that ignore script someone made still works with the HS?

On most decent internet forums, you can make it so that the ignore function doesn't work on Admins/Mods.

It is something I suggested on the old forums.

being annoying is not a crime, harrassement is. The difference is that an anoying players is annoying, an harrasser is an annoying players who dont want to stop annoying you (and he can be screenshoted and reported).

Ignore system is more than just in this game is a societary problem, more and more young have problems to live togeter because of the ignore concept. I know that sound silly, but when you observe a group of kids, often tension born from the fact they cant ignore each other like on the internet when they are a physically close, a lot of kids have social disturbance because (partially of that).
Its easier to get well with people when you ignore who isnt of your opinion, but in real life things dont go that way. We need to solve problems, not ignore them.

Ignoring a problem is like ignoring a bacteria colony growing in the closet, it wont bother you untill the bacteria makes the closet explode, and then its too late to save you from being a bacteria covered person. Or make this game unpalyable because as ignore is the routine 90% of players have been silenced, tickets are not so widely in use so bad behavior isnt regulated. Trade is impossible because if you ignore someone you ceratainly wont buy something from him, unless you ignored him for a capricious decision.

Agreed. Btw, years ago, didnt a player found a way to ignore people in forums in a indirect feature that wasnt necesary created by SDE?

There's still something as just ignoring a person yourself by not reding anything that has his name on. Why on earth do you think company that makes money like SDEnternet would care about your 10 bucks per month? they've got over 2000 people spending that much, and even more.
