  • (Crew Question) Im kinda.. stuffed?

Hi all,

Ive just reached my BB1 on KM and after reading some posts regarding BBs I realized im in some kinda of problem.

In many threads people suggest 4 or more engineers for KM, the problem is, I have only 1. Actually, all of my support sailors, restore, repair and engineer, I have only one per sailor.

Also, my gunners are at level with my BO with only few thousand exp difference, that means my spread as is pretty crap. None of my sailors are boosted or whatever. Upon realising these facts I reckon im pretty stuffed for the game.. Is there anyway to turn the tide for me, or is this it? Any suggestions?

Yup. If your going to spend any amount of money on this game, get a Moltke. Its an expert pack making machine.

All of them, they are spread throughout the crew.

No, you won't be able to play blitz with those gunners. But then again: You don't want to play blitz when leveliing a crew up, the exp is just too poor. try to play as AA or just level up in GB doing whatever you can do with the level and ship you have. E.G: Use a DD as ASW, an emdem as AAW, and use CAs as a mini BBs and to provide AA cover.

Use the Emden to grind your AA gunners up, it's also got 4 support slots and 1 T slot, but is light on displacement. 0.2 belt and some bulge will help the stray torpedo you'll take. Nothing annoys subs like an armored support vessel. Put the 0.8 s reload guns on, and max out your ammo. Also, if you haven't started, practice manual aiming. The T slot is open for you to add a torpedo man, or a spare gunner for HHs, it's nice to be able to defend yourself should the need arise.

If you are raising a second BO, consider getting a Motlke. You'll find a lot of idiots replace the main armament with HH or KM40s.

Put your main gunners on, with the Kust 11" Ls, 3 binds of HE L and 1 AP will be fine. Put your AA gunners on and use the 4.7"s, they're a little longer ranged than the KM40s and carry more ammo as well as deal more damage to planes. Train your current support crew as well as your 'new' crew, switching them out every level or two. This allows you to keep 'em balanced, as well as grinding up your main gunners to have a deliciously tighter spread later, you'll thank us when you can get a nice, tight group later!

Keep a frigate with you at all times, they're hard to hit and detect subs as well, and blast them if they surface with reasonable accuracy. My Turtle ship has dominated several Subs, then when I died, it ventured off and killed two CVs, a DD, and a CL by itself without being fired upon.

Keep in mind if you use an escort ship it will take money for rep costs [not much] and the sailors on it will get no xp. regardless of what poojawa said use the lv 30 3.75's on any aa slot that you can't use Km40's these Km AA guns are some of the best in the game...use them. [and a 2nd Bo is fun]

This just proves how un-educated you are with the KM Nation.

Keep the T slot empty on the Emden. It does not have enough space to be useable with anything, and mounting that HH launcher will not do a whole lot of damage to subs, even if you do mange to turn around and get the other side's shot off.

Replacing the R slot guns on the Moltke with nothing, HH's, or putting your AA gunners on there with the KM40's is one of the best setups you can manage. T slots filled with the 3.96's until your more experienced with aiming, and then pop on the 4.1's (Not the KM40's).

In my opinion, the Kust's are one of the worst set of guns I've ever laid my eyes on. The 4.1's and the KM40's are meant to be paired guns on the H39/H44, hence the reason there are 2 different T slot sizes. The 4.1's I believe have a smaller gun velocity, therefore need a higher angle than the KM40's for it to be at "Golden Angle".

Having an escort for anything other than a CV in my opinion is useless. In a BB, that's what AA ships are for, DD/CL's with HH, and subs. Unless your running a Moltke with only HH's, or another PCA/CA with HH's, I find it viable to run a sonar-usable escort. Other than that, it's a waste of a AI controlled ship that annoys many people.
