I have been wondering since people mentioned that the montana has the worst range of all the BB5's that how do all the nations bb5 compare?

I mean from best to worst how does it break down? Which country has the best range and 2nd best and so on.

How is this range being compared? line them up and shoot? and for the most part aren't they all pretty much the same range? difference being what a ship width?

generally its done as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqyeQqfeX0Q wich does not take into concideration hangtime etc tho but it shows the range of it

As you are suspecting this range comparatives doesn´t mean nothing.
To compare BB5 are other factors like speed, spread, and Hang time.

H44 maybe have the best range, but in practical effects means nothing in a WAW room.
All players in one team struggle to chase H44´s

Thought it was something like this:

H44>L2=Sovietsky(lv100)>SY>M.onty=Alsace

L2 and SY range are very close to eachother, so the difference is usually negligable.

Monty will outrange Alsace on average. The difference is again negligable, as the Alsace's spread allows it to outrange monty once in a while.

Sovietsky range was supposed to be H44>Sovietsky>L2 when it was first balanced. Not sure what it is now.

where's the RM bb5 in this?

usually comes pretty close to my H44, so i figure she's somewhere between L2 and H44?
(could just be the shorter hangtime?)

Like other say... range is just one tiny part.

You could make a chart of ranking range, damage output of shells, speed, survivability, armor, spread, etc.

KM only has range advantage (and that is a tiny amount like 1 mm) compared to huge lack of damage and survivability they have. It could take 10 salvos to sink a L2 with a H44, meanwhile, a L2 just has to land one salvo to cripple or sink h44. In the GB environment, you'll never have the perfect game where only range comes into play.

Focus much more on a ships damage per shell output and ability to take hits to determine best bb5.

The range chart is outdated, have not updated since Soyuz and VV patched.

KM>SN>RN(UK)=RM>IJN>USN=MN

This is closest, I don't remember RM's exact range but that is about what it feels like.

KM, RN, IJN,USN,MN are all in the right places however.

Be aware the difference between the SN 5 and the IJN 5 is very close together.
