It doesnt matter if you eat it, wear it, drive it, or whatever else you can think to do with it. A trucker brought it.
Please show respect to people like us. Things drivers appreciate, are really simple.

1.) Whenever you are making a lane change to get in front of a big truck, create a bigger gap so that driver
doesnt need to slow down to increase following distance.

2.) Never pass us on the right!!!!!

3.) Flashing your hi-beams at night actually blinds us when you are trying to signal us that we are clear to move
over. just turn your headlights on and off a couple times.

4.) Dont hang out in our blind spots!!!! If you cant see my face in my humongous mirrors, I cant see you!!!!

5.) Dont get irritated with us b/c we are driving slow uphill......it takes a lot of effort to move 45k+ lbs up a hill!

6.) Whenever you see a trucker dont hesitate to tell them how much you appreciate what they do.

7.) Most of all, have patience with us!!!

If there are any other drivers here, plz feel free to add to this list of things that you think john q public can do
to make our lives easier!

62 mph????? there are only a handful of major companies that still govern their trucks at that slow retarded 62 MPH:(

while i appreciate what you are saying, these are the most common "nuisances" i experience on a daily(and nightly) basis.

also which company do you work for?

We do it because our contract requires it by GM/Chrysler also due to heavy snow in our region. All are electronically monitored down to MPG and emissions.

I work for dedicated logistics witch operates out of the midwest.

i guess its not called minneSNOWta for nothing.....also regarding emissions....never mind i wont get started on that other than to say its a bunch of bullshit

given that it is now illegal for anyone in a CMV to be using a handheld device while operating it, yes i agree...a $2750 fine tho is a bit excessive IMO, especially given there are more accidents involving 4 wheelers and cell phones than big trucks.

Agreed the fine is VERY excessive...Luckily we reimburse employees who chose to get Bluetooths Yeah surprisingly our MN drivers know how to drive in the snow. MI/PA/OH/IN/KY drivers CANNOT handle snow or wind apparently.

Emissions is silly but required...the new trucks smell like fart when turned off due to the "emissions filtration system" in our Volvos' and Peterbilts.

I'll be happy when I move from safety to warehouse operations next year. Accident claims in the winter just pile up to the point of nonsense.

What kinda route do you run?

Also have you ever been in the 18 wheeler simulator with the wind/snow on max? (jack knifed the truck after going 40mph)

I myself, in australia find on a 4 lane highway, eg: in city area, the 2nd lane is safest. Too many idiots slam on the chocks to exit highway in 1st lane.
On another note, you think fines are bad over there.. he he. he he.
try this one on. $600 for forgetting to turn your headlights on in the middle of the day in a desert (Bright.. not dark) when you cross state borders. This only applies if you are a 42 wheeler or above, but the amount of different rules for different states, I should be a Rocket scientist. 42 wheeler is a Road Train over here. 2 or more trailers.
42 is 2 trailors and a dolly.. wait till you see 4 trailers with 3 dolly's.. Don't bother reversing. drive to next town to U-turn.
So don't miss your turn.

I believe its up to $4000 right now for being caught talking on a mobile device while driving.

I'm so glad the snow is gone, this winter my car has taken a beating >< RWD + Ice + V8 = sideways car!
