  • Rockets for Harbor Assualt?

                  Why not add ships equiped with rockets that are used in harbor assualt? They could do extra damage 
        against harbors, and be something like the APA branch off. There were ships in WW2 that were equipped with
        rockets that were used in beach bombardments, why not in Navyfield?

That would severely unbalance HAs as the defenaive fleet would have to rush the attacking one, or see their harbor slowly getting shelled. The attacking fleet needs to beat the defensive one within the timing limits, not the other way. If you dont even need to beat the defenders to hit their harbor, HA becomes kinda lame.

And avoid historic reference to support a point. Its a game. No BB ever cruised 50 knot, and subs were going 8 knot underwater. There was no blocking salvos.

You dont want the US harbor to pop a nuke either, right?


I believe that rockets aren't going to be OP, since that actually, have extremely short range in WW2 compared to
the artillery they had. Rocket tech was pretty primitive back then.


Then your suggestion is useless. People use APA to avoid nuking the production of an harbor. Short range weapons on a non-fighting ship will be a useless weight till the end, and even then they will be less efficient at it than BBs.


As I said, it would have uncanny fire rate and deal extra dmg to harbors to balance it out.

Think a bit about it. You got 3 options for them to be useful. The first is massive range. I already explained why it wouldn't fit in the HA formula.

The 2nd is massive speed at the point of ridiculousness for them to get in range of the harbor onxe the battleline of the defensor is beaten, and get there before the BBs finish shelling the harbor.

The last one is a reload so ridiculous it outdamage BB6. And even then you'd need the speed to get there in time.

So you'd need a mid-range crazy speedboat that outdamage BB6 to take a spot in the HA tile, and gain maybe 5 sec in harbor shelling time. Thats if they get in range before the BB finish the job.

Sorry I think this idea is pointless and adress a part of HA that isnt an issue. I lead my share of HA and i can assure you I wouldn't sacrifice a BB6 spot for a ship that can only shell an harbor. BB6 can sink their defensive line and then blow the harbor quite effectively on their own.
