Base 12/12 gunner. Its Real!

Was grinding for QV sialors and got this! Epic!

I think i got a 12 pot 12 rep 11 restore sailor i used for the BO.
Only 12 pot so i can use more vets/experts on him to gain more repair from him without having guidelines longer than the map.

Why the 12 rep 11 restore turned into a BO? Should have made him a repair with that +12 repair stat unless you were turning him into an SS BO.

Sonlirain did the right thing - that BO is going to give him a lot of repair.

There are so many ordinary +12 reps available, it would have been a waste to turn his sailor into "just" a repair.

I've been under the impresion anything after the 12 eng stat, once its an engie (12 rep, 12 res) is not worth anything, just looks good.  Same goes with the 12 fgtr and the 11/12 air stat. 

I've done the same with one of my BO's  14 pot and 11 rep 10 res.  very nice rolling though.

Well, you have been under the wrong impression then :)

ALL sailors' repair and restore abilities are taken into account for total rep or rest ability. Mind you, it doesn't work the other way round - the eng stat only works on an eng - so a repairer with +11 eng base would indeed only "look good", with no further effects.

You are right concerning pilots - there is only one of the three pilot stats active for each pilot type. Still, repair and restore are active there as well and add to overall ability.

And your BO, if he is for a BB, is excellent. Provides lots of repair.

That is only true if you wish to turn him into an SS BO, and even then with +12 potential you will need a lot of vets to get good torpedo spot range, it just isn't worth it, there's a reason they have repair sailors in the game, they generally get more boost to the repair stat than a BO would. I would think that it would be very obvious that a repair sailor would be a better repair sailor than a bridge operator would, just like a +12 engy would make a better engy than as a fighter.

(because what matters is UNDERWATER torp spot range - and it's your sonarman providing that)

If you are looking at the end game (BB5 and upwards), the pot 12 rep 12 BO will be much more valuable than a pot 14/15.

The pot 12/rep 12 does not have to be trimmed down as much (for guideline length), and thus is going to give you much more repair than an "ordinary" BO. And yes, we are all aware that there are sailors called repair. xD

It's just that for reaching the repair cap (outside RN), you'll need every bit of repair ability.

Thanks EricIdle for correcting me.  I was aware of the eng portion doesnt work on others and got the other backwards.  I thought there was (might be) something with other stats considering it only works on dock.  Memory not too good for this old fellow!

Once, our fleet collect full 12/12 crew for KM BB (12Acc,12Rel, 12 Eng, 12Rep etc... only Res 11). Anyway all that sailor rolling system is pretty obsolete.
