Hi guys!

I know the choices are not really capital ship materails but since I am new to this game, which one is better,  Oakland or Juneau II ? And what is the advantage of one over the other? (I have hread that Juneau is a better AA ship than Oaklan).

HAW in blitz its a waste of time... any fletcher with 5 barrels of 6' can cripple ur atlanta while u are trying to predict his 40+ tinny ass OH rush

if you are playing blitz in hobbit war use duals 6'

but if you want to grind for real just remodel your atlanta to juneau II, then load it with 5/38 MK 38 L (36 golden angle and good plane damage, not like 3.70 or 5/54) with 4 binds of AA and 2 binds of APC and go AA Ship... the extra space for crew will let u carry half of the crew you need to lvl your CV6 or BB6 crew... and the Ship level (33 for Juneau II) will let u lvl them from lvl 12 to 45 (ready for CA Baltimore)

the 2 APC binds will let u HA quite well... it will not make as damage as 5/54 but when u learn the angles you will be able to make 10 to 15k of damage against any BB or CV fool enough to enter your range

but remember, Atlanta and remods are mainly AA Ships, if you want to play as support ASuW you need to wait for Cleveland or better for Baltimor/New Orleans

A little late for a tip but thanks a lot. I do appreciate it. By the way I'm on a Baltimore / North Hampton now. :)

Actually, unless you have 5 engies it doesnt change anything. Juneau transfer 2 ship slots to support.

But you have the same total of slots open, and pure support at that point doesnt give any at level advantage. Even at higher level, you don't often run a full engy no rep setup.

If you know your HAW, you know that its not forbidden to set back down to direct fire against fast small targets (mainly FF/DDs). APC work well for that, since they keep a part of HE damage, unless I'm mistaken, while offering LHE range and AP ability. Damage in HAW makes it LHE range with HHE damage pretty much.

Some people keep a backbind of HHE to deal with them. I don't on either the atlanta or the oakland, as I feel it create ammo issue (running out of APC). Especially for atlanta. Oakland extra bind can be seen as that backbind, and you pretty much become an atlanta with an anti-rusher option.

With the massive increase of PHH I suppose it can be nice to have that direct fire stopping power vs DDs.

Dual 6" are far from being very efficient, have crap range, less damage output and you'd be better off staying in the DDX rather than use those imo. The Ds make an interesting gun for the DDs actually, but again inferior to the quite nice USN 2x5"/38 mk 29 (anti-ship wise).

I too must admit that a lot of play styles are very limited by hobbit.

and about the remods, they're both decent but if you don't have enough money don't do them,
they may have more gun space or support slots but they aren't that much greater than atlanta and the angles still are quite limited.
