Guam the best BB1?

I actually don't get the constant Guam hate around here. Everyone is calling it the worst BB1 and that it's the best heavy cruiser in the game. But really, I might get the hate for Blitz when you are facing comparable oponents. But in GB? No way.
While it's really weak at taking hits, this negative is really negated because every BB1 dies easily in GB. But unlike most other BB1's, the Guam can actually dodge stuff because it's just so fast. The speed also means that you can rush foreward in a zigzag, fire a salvo amd do negligable damage; but unlike most other BB1s, actually make it back mostly undamaged. And if all else fails, you have 6 T mounts with a 4 turret broadside, and you can mount all the good US AA guns with ease. You also have great scounting capacity.
The Guam is the best BB1 because it's the worst at being a BB, but it's so much better at everything else.
Basically while you have to stand back and wait like a vulture with something like a Revenge (because if you rush you die, and you are equally outranged), with the Guam you can support the line with AA, rush foreward to divert enemy attention and generally actually do something productive for the team.

Not necessarily. In my opinion KM and RN has equal chances. If you don't believe me, feel free to challenge my RN (either with 60level crew or 120 level crew).

Idk about the Guam but I feel like the MN Bretagne is quite overlooked...solid ship to me.

Not necessarily. In my opinion KM and RN has equal chances. If you don't believe me, feel free to challenge my RN (either with 60level crew or 120 level crew).
RN is too slow to get into range, KM wins. And in a 1v1 situation you wont be able to back me into a corner like what would happen in a full game. Take it from someone that has played in enough tiered BB1 rooms to know.

Oh really, so what if RN runs SW? Don't forget RN has one more support slot. If RN plays run-gun, KM has no range advantage. The faster KM ship runs, the less ranger advantage there is, and you know that. RN's one more support slot means RN's OH time can be longer than KM. And RN has more SD, faster repair. The chance to beat KM ships will increase when KM is out of OH. I'm not afraid of you. When are you online? We can play 60-level crew and 120-level crew respectively. Oh btw, my BB1 has 5 minutes OH time with 120-level crew. How about yours?

You underestimate the range differences at BB1 I think. On top of that you are assuming I would be dumb enough to chase you and give up my main advantage, which I'm not. Then again all that would be assuming I actually log in to play anything other then FF, which I dont.

That depends on whether you were talking about Sharn or Gnel. Please note that only Sharn is BB1, so you cannot mount Gnel's super-range gun 11"/54.5 SK C/34 L.
What you can use on Sharn is 11"/52 SK C/28 L or 11"/54.5 SK C/34 N.
I don't know about 11"/54.5 SK C/34 N, but the range of 11"/52 SK C/28 L is not that farther than UK BB1.
Meanwhile, I am not dumb enough to not let you consume your OH time either.
Although, there is one thing I do admit - no matter which BB1 gets sunk in the end, the damage made by KM BB1 is very likely to be greater than that made by RN BB1.
This is the range test between 11"/54.5 SK C/34 N and RN 15*2. As it shows KM only has an advantage of about 2 grids. This is kind of like QV fighting Kaiser (although I think given same player skills, in 1v1 scneario, QV only has 10% of chance to beat Kaiser because at level120 both QV and Kaiser will have similar OH time, repair rate, SD, but Kaiser has more range, more speed, more scouts, more efficient AA, faster reload, all of which will over-counter its only disadvantage which is shell damage), but RN BB1 has 1 more support slot = more OH time and more SD and more repair rate. Again, equal chances.

You say high speed= good dodging? Why don't you try the pocket RM BB1 Ammiraglio di St.Bonn (This should be the best BB1, tight rank with Courbet).. Small size contributes to dodging more effectively than speed.
Also not to mention that at low level, your guns are not accurate. When I bring Guam to GB, I can't hit anything just because low level gunner makes the spread so bad.
True, Guam/Alaska class was designed as big heavy cruiser historically. I'll rank it the #2 best CA--only PCA Mandel is even better. However only if you have higher level BVE gunner.
Are you even sure Guam is not the best BB1 frankly it is the best BB1 if you have a ebve or bve gunner your acc and spread will be very gd. But when i use manual aiming on Guam i dont fail except i must argree it is a big target for cv and BTW Guam has a best AAW... But i dont know why when i see people play Guam with auto FCS .. such a fail... and speakimg of ca Mandel i can blockshot them easily with portland or on Guam.

No my conclusion is not purely drawn from GB. When talking about 1v1, you really have got to imagine yourself playing against yourself. In terms of QV vs Kaiser, if neither part makes any mistake, due to range difference, QV really doesn't stand much of a chance. Kaiser AP damage is 4500 per shell which is consistent and quite considerably powerful. If Kaiser, at full speed, got rushed to death by QV, that's Kaiser's aiming problem. But Sharnhorst and Renown is different story. Renown has one more support slot which means more SD, more repair rate, more OH, or saved for one more scout, etc, which all together kinds of balance out the range disadvantage. Whenever you are online you can try my Renown with your Sharnhorst.
