Difference between GB1 and GB2?

It's all GB1 games now, but what's the difference? The only thing I can see are differences in max BB and CV , minimum # of ships, and GB1 has no "flag" mechanic.

When I play BB I would rather the CVs DIDNT scout for me since I can do that myself. I hate when I'm bombed or my scouts are getting murdered by fighters and the CV is using his fighters to "scout". I would rather do it myself and have the CVs keep the bombers away from me and the fighters off my scouts. Scouting is by far the least skillful thing a CV can do. Yes sometimes its needed because most BBs cant scout themselves anymore but I absolutely hate having to do it when I'm i na CV because the bbs are too effing lazy to even try to manage their planes.

well usually the second i take my fighters anywhere but the enemy BB several things happen.
They get shot down by friendly AA.
Lights out.
I get yelled at.
Seriously camping fighters over enemy BBs is the only option most of the time.
