  • TNF Bounty Event - Nebraska and Kaiser

    10. 27. 2011 06:48

Pathfinder19
Dear fans of Navy Field,

TNF Bounty Event
Starts: Oct 28 2011 12:00am PST
Ends: Nov 4 2011 12:00am PST

Entry Rules
Simply sink a member of TNF (Moderator/Monitor) in any type battle to be eligable to enter into this random draw event.
After you sink a member of TNF take a screen shot that clearly shows your username has sunk the tnf member and submit that  in the event support ticket  section. You will then be entered into a draw for a olive prize.
There are no limit on entries, the more TNF you sink the better the odds. Of course teamkilling won't count.

Prizes

Five 200 olive prizes per server.
The prize draw will happen and winner will be announced on November 7 2011.

Hi..

Not happy with this event on Kaiser server..

Can you please tell us how many event tickets sent in from Nebraska server? and make it public knowledge please. Also how many event tickets have been sent from Kaiser server..

I was told last night by a MOD -
Nebraska = Hundreds of tickets submitted
Kaiser = 14 tickets ( all weekend)

I am sorry to have to complain as i thought this was going to be a great fun event . But clearly the Kaiser MODs (not all), have decided to go play another game during this event ,and Kaiser players have not had there chances to enter this prize draw, the same as Nebraska has had..

WHY?

Perhaps this event should be titled - Nebraska server only -

Will we get a real chance to enter this draw, or did the MOD's just not want to take part on Kaiser server and so we got little to no chance to enter this event?

in the last 2-3 days i have played over 15hours of NF, and have seen NO mods in any rooms for this event on Kaiser server

No1shero
P.S. Rant over, but still not impressed by this.

I am on Kaiser and I have seen plenty of them. Most of the time they have been on my team, which is fine with me because less people are shooting at me.

If you think about it, more mods online will not improve your odds of winning. There more times they get sunk, the more entries there will be and there are only five winners.

Hi again..

Please TeamNF / SDE .

Can you please now stated how many event entres from nebraska server you have had over this event??

Can we also know how many event entries from Kaiser server pls??

Simple Answer would be appreciated !!.

Dear fans of Navy Field,

TNF Bounty Event
Starts: Oct 28 2011 12:00am PST
Ends: Nov 4 2011 12:00am PST

I saw 3 MODS over this whole event in battle rooms. But the point is that Nebraska MODS got involved and allowed there playing members to get involved fairly in this event. The Kiaser MODS, but 1-2, just dissapeared.
When an event is a called by TEAMNF , i expect it to happen, and TEAMNF, you should expect players will come out for these events. I have wasted my weekend trying to get involved in this event ,only for few to no MODS to turn up. PLS ,don't run an event if there is no intention is doing it.

Please will you now answer the question's of how many event tickets submitted by each server?

Tomfoolery, i'm glad to hear you saw some mods, i hope you got a ticket in for the prize draw and GL. But i am dealing with the FACTS now, and those facts are in the amount of entres from each server, WE/Kaiser server has had almost no chance to enter this draw. FACTS NEVER LIE.

Cheers

Hi, I'm happy you have come forward with your concern. Yesterday I went onto Kaiser for about an hour and a half there was was 6 mods (including) my self on at that time. Another thing you may need to note is that currently Nebraska TNF has a monitor program running. So we have 8 new and eager members of TNF spending much time in blitz and gbs over the weekend. I am not going to release the full details of how many entries for each server there are, but currently Nebraska server dose have more entries into the draw. As you know moderators are volunteers and many work on weekends or go out with their families this may have attributed to your view of a lack of TNF members to sink.

What time are you usually playing at? (Server time) or what time zone do you live in?

hi all..

Phantom - Hi. Its not that i worry who, or weather someone got the prizes. Its the fact of playing members having a fair opportunity(sp?) to enter the draw in the 1st place, when players like myself log on this weekend to be involved in this event called by the official NF TEAM.

Pathfinder - Hi. From your reply i finally feel someone understands my concern.Clearly you have the information to understand the point i am making.

To answer your questions -

What time are you usually playing at? (Server time) or what time zone do you live in?

Simple answer = UK into mid evening US - UK GMT

Above is a basic time scale of my playing and my time zone. Although this weekend, because of the events i have been playing a lot more than usual hours.

Thursday - before event
logged on 10pm GMT - logged off approx 3AM GMT - Few hours before event started.
I had spent approx 30mins before i logged off on your MOD ventrilo server(approx 2AM GMT), chatting to 3 mods online. I was just having a laugh chatting about this upcoming event as i was interested and thought it was a good idea.

Friday -
Logged on about 1PM GMT - Logged off approx 6PM for dinner :) . I may even of stayed online to be honest, just AFK.
Logged on approx 8PM GMT - Logged off approx 2-3AM GMT
During my evening play 8pm-2-3am , i logged onto your Ventrilo server again and saw NO mods online, so i logged off again,(approx 2AM GMT).

Total hours played = 11-12hours approx

/mod command use several times during the day,(event time). No Mods online - i was not the only one to notice as we chatted about it in the battle rooms openly.

Saturday -
Logged on approx 8pm GMT - logged off 6AM approx (to attempt to play more US time zone)
Again during this play time i logged onto the ventrilo server and found NO mods in the Kaiser channel. I did however find arrox 7-8 Mods in the nebraska channel. So i jump in and had a little 10min chat to them before logging off (they seemed busy with something),(approx 2-3AM GMT, again same time as thursday when i found 3 Mods online) .

Total hours played = 10hours (solid)

Again /mod command used during my play time and NO Mods online when i used this command.

Sunday - After i had made my original post on this thread.
Logged on approx 4-5PM GMT - Logged off approx 1.30am GMT ( to be honest i had given up with the event by this point, so logged off early).
During play i used the /Mod command and saw 3 Mods online. They were online the majority of the day, until late evening(UK-GMT) when this reduced to 2 Mods online.I saw 2 Mods in battle rooms that day also,(no need for any names i feel, it has no relevance to anything). Good to see the Mods online i feel, but this was the last day of the event.

Total hours played = 8-9 hours

Total weekend hours played for this event = 29-31 hours - out of 72 hours available.

Now all that said above, i would rather of not had to go into that part of the discussion, as i feel you do understand the point being made about having a "fair opportunity"(sp?) , and not that i need to be explained to why i OR others missed out on the chance to enter this prize draw. I enter all the information above because i do try to stick to the facts, so there are my facts of my hours played during this event etc.I'm sure if the Mods check my log in/out details they will find my above information very close to true.

Qoute-
Another thing you may need to note is that currently Nebraska TNF has a monitor program running. So we have 8 new and eager members of TNF spending much time in blitz and gbs over the weekend.

Ah. This very much explains why i saw so many nebraska Mods online, to be honest, it was that night(saturday if i remember right?) that made me realise this issue i have posted about. Seeing Nebraska having far more oppotunity's to enter this event that Kaiser players were having.

Quote-
As you know moderators are volunteers and many work on weekends or go out with their families this may have attributed to your view of a lack of TNF members to sink.

Absolutely, i completely understand they have real lifes etc, and that is FAR more important than gaming. I have 3 kids myself so i do genuinely understand this.
I would like to add here, If an event is called, surely the organizers are aware of the fact that people(this does include Mods) have RL's, and perhaps extent the event to 1-2weeks to overcome these issues of Mods not being available 24/7. Hopefully this can be learned from this event, for any future events of this kind were Mods are involved.

Quote-

I am not going to release the full details of how many entries for each server there are, but currently Nebraska server dose have more entries into the draw.

Nebraska = 600
Kaiser = 40

Thats all the information i required, i do not need to know any other details, usernames - real names etc etc, for obvious security reasons. But i do feel let down that the information i asked for is not available to the public, as i do not feel it breaches any security issues. On that said i do believe the Mods have this information, and i do hope to believe that pathfinder understands from that information the point i am making. And all that said, i think its a genuine point to make.

Again all that said, i am glad i have had a genuine response from Pathfinder, and 1 Mod that remains nameless as i don't want to get anyone in any trouble.

Lessons to learn - ( in my opinion)

1 - Need more Mods in US off-peak times ( just stating the obvious, sorry. I understand theres no quick fix here).
2- Extend the event time of such events were the Mods are more directly involved. To cover the issue of peoples real life circumstances, and due to the results of this event. (Although the event has had some success on Nebraska server( only the results can tell us that !)).
3- I am not saying do this all now or else, lol, incase anyone trys to get the wrong idea.

So the simple point i make - an event is called - It does not go well on the Kaiser server, not as well as perhaps the Mods? or players? would of liked - All i saw in this thread was happy posts?, and no-one mention the situation on the Kaiser server - So rather than say nothing, and i am trying to stand-up for ALL the Kaiser players and bring this issue to the attention of the Mods and the playing members.

Now i am sorry for the really long post, next time i will write :-

30 %$"**& hours of %%("!^ play , %£&&^! this $$*(&( event it $££^&%*&& - LOL - (just joking)

Cheers
No1shero
P.S. oh, 1 final point, When TeamNF make an event post - people do read it , then get involved.

Your numbers are way off by the way. No where close to 600. We don't have 200 total entries yet for both servers. But none the less in response to your concerns I have been splitting my time between both servers today.

I have also been spending time over on Kaiser of course I am on Pacific time so we have about an
8 hour swing between timezones

Hi all..

Thankyou for the quick response Pathfinder.

OK, interesting on the rough numbers you say , that have entered for both servers. I'll leave that as that , without numbers i can make no more comment.

I'd like to say Thankyou to Pathfinder for your efforts on both servers today, and for understanding the point made. I did not expect such a quick response like this, i thankyou again for your efforts.
Now i wish i had not been on forums all day making that long post, heheh, i may of got a prize draw entry by now (joking again).

GL to all in the prize draw, on both servers.

Cheers

Hi again..

Sorry for double posts - But ok bugger it, i am going to make 1 more valid point to this event.

I assume Team NF made up this event? or did the event come from above - SDE? or perhaps its the same thing?

In either event, despite who started this event, one of my first thoughts were:-

1st - 200 olives, i'll have a go at thats, sounds good fun
2nd - Perhaps the Mods will be given more chance to play during this event -(honestly)

Meaning - I completely understand that during normal weeks, there are very often Mods about to help with any issues, they do there voluntery job very well and i'm sure 98-99% of issues are resolved, and members are happy with there responses, as i have been personally myself. I geniunely understand that Mods would LOVE to play more battles, instead of dealing with constant issues. So i genuinely thought, perhaps SDE told the mods to re-direct any small issues, to the ticket system. And higher up will take the load off the Mods for this event, and tell them to go have fun and play more during this event, seriously. Almost a little reward for all the Mods good efforts.great idea i thought.

I will assume this has not been the case . So perhaps my original point of players not having a fair chance to enter the prize draw ,also extends to the fact thats the Mods do enough already that stops them playing more battles, to have an event such as this also does not give consideration to the Mods workload either, and there ability to "join in the fun".

I have responded again because Pathfinder wrote - i have split my play time between both servers today to address this issue(roughly).
Honestly, If the Mods are freed-up from normal duties then perhaps they have the time to run such an event, and gain some enjoyment from participating themselves. To see you Pathfinder working this hard today does not please me as such, i know you are likely very busy as it is already. But i thankyou and Still i believe the event is a great idea. I really do appreciate this extra effort Pathfinder, which is what prompts me to post again. I don't like to see that the Mods also (perhaps) have not been so fairly treated, in that they have not been given the time or freedom to attend this event more.(i hope everyone sees what i am saying) . Chances are this only effected the Kaiser server, as the Nebraska server had several new mods, enough to make a reasonably successful event in the time given.

Well its said now, best i can, and on the record.. Perhaps the Mods will not agree or dis-agree with my above statements, but i do not really expect any reply to it . Just another good point i feel has been made.

Cheers
