  • WHY Occupation mode is NOT APA-friendly

At the beginning of battle, BB players keep shooting the small islands. Once the small islands are taken, you as APA cannot gain any exp from occupying it.

 

Then as battle goes on, there are 2 possible outcomes. 

 

1. your team  lose. If this is the case, likely you will get 0 attack, and you receive 0 exp with 0 attack.

 

2. your team wins. In this case your team's BB will start to shoot enemy main base before you can even reach there, and you get no chance of landing on enemy base for any exp. If you try to rush before your team's BB start to attack base, you will die from enemy fire. And with no enemy ship around you have no chance to attack anything, thus still no attack and no exp gained.

 

And not to mention that, everyone loves shooting APA. BBs love shooting APA instead of shooting enemy BB (even if enemy BB is shooting them and your APA is harmless), SS love torping APA instead of fighting other ships (even if your APA runs away from them and that SS is being attacked by other ships), CVs just keep bombing the s**t out of your APA even if there is another damaged BB5/6 nearby and it will receive much more exp bombing that BB (OH HELL! ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE PARKED NEAR THE SMALL ISLAND! I get bombed EVERY TIME when landing the small island, with no exception)...

As APA driver, you actually receive more exp in GB than in the f***ed up Occupation mode.

I agree, but what is f***ed up is not so much the battle mode, but too many of its players.

The one thing to change, though, is to give exp to APAs in a different way to avoid that 0 exp frustration (shared exp?).

The players don't play in the "correct" way because the game mode is not set up correctly.

BB players love shelling the base because APA takes base very slowly. If APA's landing damage to the island base is higher than BB shells, then BBs will less likely shoot islands. 

 

Reduce gun shell damage to base, and boost APA's landing damage to base. Also make APA able to gain exp by gunning the small islands. Then you will see some change.

just had a game where my team steamrolled the enemy team in occ and only a DD was left, and one BB kept shelling the last base despite being told to stop.  we had plenty of time to cap them all with 2 APA's.

occ is a fun game mode just people don't listen so it is ruined. if APA base damage was buffed then they could oneshot harbors in HA easy, which would be a no go for that route.  can't boost it one game mode without it breaking another.

Perhaps give an EXP penalty to BB's shelling the base?

APA ships just useless in this mode.

As well as AAW ships, 3k plane credits for 6k exp in a winning team plus double exp event! Come on!

You still get exp for landing on the "Forward bases," and the noobs mostly shoot the north one, so if you go south and park, you can, even with just 1 low level landing force, get blitz or even GB-level exp.

 

Interestingly, you get exp for any kind of attack on the main base, but landing forces are the only thing that seems to give exp for the forward ones. Yes BB/CA/CL noobs, this means you get NOTHING from shooting the ones on your side. No tactical benefit, no exp, NADA.

Oh, and should you manage to get there in your APA, the exp gained for dealing significant damage to the main base is enormous. I'm talking 6 digits, wich is insane for a CL in any mode under any circumstances. And that's without the first win bonus!

dont have to increase the apa damage to islands. Simply make bb shells cannot take the island, can make it to yellow but not green will solve the problem.

That's an excellent idea. Like this, gunships are still useful for taking bases - "softening up" the base through shelling so that the APA or the airlift forces can take it more easily.

more or like ff to cl gets low or no xp, tried aaing got only 400xp lol, 2nd try have gain at least 11k attck but failed to shootdown planes 300xp -.- what the hck

ship im using is the Atlanta and the crew im leveling are lvl 28 that time except for the gunners

1.   Set only APA can take island.  BB shoot island that BB nothing to do

2.    BB only can shoot enemy island.

3.   Base -BB \ APA\ bomb can take it.

The problem with that is that many battles will start without APAs, or worse, APAs only on one team. There's really no good fix that will avoid a flood of complaints.
