Noticed that there are some photography enthusiasts among us, so I decided to
create this thread where we can all share the shots we took, and admire the beauty
of things that surround us.

Feel free to post your favourite images of anything (within forum rules). It doesn't
have to be a masterpiece either - cellphone, compact camera or DSLR pics are fine.

If possible, do provide a brief description, so others may discover a thing or two
about a certain place, object, person, etc.

Hopefully we'll have enough contributors to keep it going.
Let the visual feast begin !

I took this on Dec. 31st, 2010, in Istanbul, using 15 second exposure time on my little
TZ5:

It's the M/V Savarona, yatch of Turkey's founder, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.

I guess it's fitting that I post this today, since it is Commemoration of Ataturk day.

I'll start things rolling with this:

A panorama across the Yarra River in Melbourne, Australia, taken just after sunset
last winter. 4 separate images stitched in Photoshop, with 30secs exposure time to
create the glassy reflections on the river surface.

Southbank on the left, with the 91-storey Eureka Tower (2nd tallest building in
southern hemisphere) dominating the skyline, and the CBD on the right, with the
historic Flinders St Station glowing in orange.
