How to get the best fighters

Cracko	I have been calculating if is important or not powerlevel the fighter pilots. As you know, "real ability" is not the same thing as displayed ability, if you level a fighter properly, you are gaining more displayed ability, but you loose crew growth. If you powerlevel the fighters it helps you a bit for getting more real ability. But how much? is this important? I will put some results here. For the calculations im using km fighters base 11/12. -Green line is keeping them as fighters pilots. -Blue line is keeping them as ACE fighters. -Red line is making all the 3 upgrades. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------------- First calculations are made with 100 vets. (Oh, im suposing they are full of experts too) There is a relative difference between best and worst case of 3% on real fighter ability that can give you like 2-3 lvl. On aircraft the difference is bigger and it can give u more than 10lvls of advantage. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------------- Now calculations are made with 200 vets Differences remain the same (more or less) for real aircraft ability. For fighter ability differences seems to be smaller. Notice that now the best case is the blue line. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------------- It seems that will be interesting putting these results in fuction on number of vets in just one graphic. Lets see: No surprises for aircraft real ability, allways the green line is the better result. But for fighter real ability ... there are alternances. In the range of vets showed, best case is blue line. Anyways it moves in the range of 2-4% that gives you like 2-4 lvl of advantage. It doesnt seems a big difference ... but it exists. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------------- One more thing, remember that number of vets is capped at 40% of maximum crew size (correct me if im wrong) For a fighter that you keep as fighter pilot until lvl 120 the maximum number of vets will be 260 For a fighter that you keep as ACE fighter pilot until lvl120 the maximum number of vets will be 236 For a fighter that you promoted it to fighter squad leader at lvl75 the maximum number of vets will be 218. With those numbers of vets we have these values (ignore the X axis, it means nothing) Well, these are more significative differences than the others. So if you have a lot of money to spend on game, you know what you have to do, just make lvl40 upgrade. (Another questions will be if exists a capp for fighter ability and how important is aircraft ability on fighters) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------------- I dont understand why if there are lots of CV drivers with a lot of $$$ worried about how to have the best fighter pilots ... noone made calculations. richardphat	Taines, you realized that radco post before it has been confirmed that aircraft is posted right. It is not ages ago that adalbert update his guide for aircraft information. Still, fighter ability in this topic matter the most, so you don't need to start raging.

nikitas	According to Adalberts guide, aircraft ability is indeed not active. On the other hand, bomber ability is what makes planes resistant (both to aaw,aa,fighters and everything). Adalbert also states : " FP4(3000/1000) < FP6(1000/3000) ha! Indeed the difference in resistance is more pronounced then the attack difference - due to the cap and non-linearity of the first part of the equation. " (where Fp4(3000/1000) means a fighter with 3000 fighter true ability and 1000 bomber true ability). Taking this into account, all my calculations have led me to the conclusion that keeping them unclassed (fighter only) is always the best case...

taines	There is only one problem with the whole thing. Aircraft ability, according to NF maual, is ONLY for sight range. The other problem is that SDE does not have the aircraft ability active. So the aircraft ability is a non issue, the 2 stats that should be considered for a fighter should be the Fighter and Bomber ability. Im not exactly sure what the bomber ability does besides help with AAW. It has been said that it makes your pilots more durable and harder to shoot down by other planes, but i am not totaly sure about this. But i would like to see your chart if you have a 12/11 Fighter/Bomber ability. And if i am wrong about the aircraft ability then a MOD needs to get on here and say so.

richardphat	This will always be true if SDE focus fighter ability on fighter only. The patch was fixing the planes and not the pilot.

CorsairX	Will this all still be true after the cv patch???? Someone on NY is running some test too with all nations and he says it depends on which nation it is. What nation did cracko use for his tests???

SirMoric	And if you plan UBER HAXORZ FULL VETSORZ go for figther. rgds PS: You said that in your previous post. PPS: I don't know if you gain anything by promoting them beyond figther AT LEVEL 120! That depends on if there's a cap on ability for figther and ACE.

richardphat	*So without reading or being able u understand the graph, I should just BVE and only advance to fighter. Im i correct? * If you bve under 120 vets, go for fighter. Else if you plan to have over 120+ go for ace.

richardphat	^^^^ For people who can't spend cash on NF too. You have 3 options to have your best own sailor. 100 vets bve for fighter Over 120+vets bve for ace fighter. Vets capped for regular fighter.
