I have a couple of issues that I think warrant discussion.


1, 1 hour 50 minutes .... This was reduced from the original 2 hours because some fleets
whined when 2 hours official prep wasn't enough. so SDE changed the time allowing an
additional 10 minutes for prep.

I believe that this was a mistake from the beginning but no one asked me. If 2 hours prep
isn't enough then tough crappola. Give the original 2 hour attack back and lets play.


2, How have the bb6 and cv6 affected HA ?

Originally bb5 and cv5 made HA, in my opinion, fun, more opportunities for individual
accomplishments to affect the outcome of battles.. Now every one and their dog has
multiple bb6's.

BB/CV6 toughness make it almost impossible to kill quickly, Making for long battles which
may be enjoyable but are effectively useless in the strategic sense.

What can be done ? Well increasing time limit would be one thing, Limiting numbers
another. Who knows, but i think it's worth a discussion.

That is less than 20 minutes per room. with 26 bb6, that is you have to kill more than

don't forget the ss4 and it's population too, due their ability to hold and wasting time
.... so IMHO less than 20 minutes per battle is not ideal anymore for this case

Dark, there is 120 minutes of prep before the 110 minutes of battle.

I doubt SDE would patch no smoke in HA, seeing as HA is, i would guess, anywhere from
5%-15% of all smoke use. Thats less cash in the pocket if they patch it.

And the range nerf and DP buff was mostly a joke :D

(A) Rather you didn't manipulate BB6 stats. Kinda like them as they are, my only grief is
when attacking or defending if the other guy smokes then you counter-smoke. The volume of
smoke usage in HA tiles ergo can be massive.

So if Fleet A makes sure every player buys smoke pre-HA, but Fleet B does not. Then by the
power of $$$ Fleet A has a huge advantage. Hence the reason for it's possible limitation,
then again why would SDE kill their cash cow. Also who is to say SDE will change anything.
Step 1 is to open the 3 remaining harbours, then comes bugs? Maybe time limits (back to 2
full hours).


(B) What with time limit, 1 hour 50 min isn't exactly alot of time to attack a properly
defended harbour. Take Hamburg, Harbour is on back row, meaning atleast 4 tiles prior to
the key battle. As an example last number of Weeks Flota Chile has been able to fully man
the key 3 tiles that lead to Harbour, meaning there is no bypass or easy route, you have
to fight your way in.

Playing at top tier means 5 cv's 20 bb6's and finally 10 SS4's for each of the 3 key
tiles. To take each tile means aggressive play and roughly 20 minutes of battle (including
room prep). Multiply by 4 tiles and the attacking team needs to best the defenders 4 times
to reach harbour with only 50! minutes to go. And thats assuming everything goes perfectly
to plan and you dont lose most of your attacking force getting to harbour.

tl;dr
HA's were developed in a time before BB6/SS4
BB6/SS4 increase tile battle duration makeing it easier to defend and waste time.
Increase HA time limit helps attackers (to 2 hours?) helps overcome the new higher tier.

No. No. No. No. No. No.

We want to speed up games, not slow them down even more... The speed in BB5 battles
was perfect. The BB6's need the same damage/dp ratio.

1:50 isn't nearly enough.
You can't use strategy when you barely have time to take just the needed tiles.

Why argue about armor? Armor makes the ships slower and i prefer speed. In my
opinion armor is only useful in GBs, where a lot of people dont know yet that they
must use AP againts armor, and fighting againts lower lvl ships with less range than
you. BB6 vs BB6 things are a little diferent, Neby and Amagi (i did not test
charlemagne and USSR BB6, but i think they too) dont have any problem, an
armored BB6 in front is only an easier and slower target, HE anmo of these ships
pierces armor. Kaiser and QV have problem againts AW ships, but kaiser have more
range, and QV is the fastest BB6 and shoot 30 degrees. Maybe increasing a little the
damage of AP anmo for this ships and the number of bullets for AP bind (i mean
more shoots for AP bind) could be a way to improve the balance.

In terms of strategy in HA, this is much more important than most of the people
think, not always the straightest path is the fastest. Try other ways to do things. In
my opinion 1 hour and 50 minutes is enought, maximum 2 hours. the defending
team has to have some advantage. Preparation time seems useless
