As requested I have raised the game stability/crashing issue and I can report back that
yes these issues are constantly being worked on and our GMs in Korea beat up the Devs
about it on practically a daily basis for us. As always, the challenge is one of
configurations with the plethora of windows versions and system setups that we face in the
PC world. Consequently, there is unlikely to be one silver bullet that solves the issues
for all and for those lucky ones that dont need a silver bullet it is working out why
their's works fine.

To try and get some data together it might help if forum readers can answer the following
questions for us:

OS in use:

CPU in use:

RAM installed:

When you crash:

Type of crash (freeze, crash out of program, have to restart machine, etc):

Wired Internet: Yes or No

Do you use alt+tab in order to go to your desktop? If yes, when?

Thanks in advance.

Delta62

OS in use: Windows 7 (64-Bit) Home Premium

CPU in use: 12%

RAM installed: 8GB

When you crash: Upon start up. It's usually before I get the the 1st loading screen. Also
on occasion, when I join a room, I crash and am forced to kill the task. Again, sometimes
when I try to alt tab back into game, the game won't come back up and I have to kill the task.

Type of crash: CTD and freeze

Wired Internet: No

Do you use alt+tab in order to go to your desktop? If yes, when? I alt-tab out all the
time, during battle, waiting for a battle, after I die in battle, there isn't any time I
don't alt tab in/out of NF.

OS in use: Windows 7 64-bit

CPU in use: Intel Core i5 Quad-Core @3.20 GHz

RAM installed: 8 Gb

When you crash: Either as the game starts or when I enter a room. Occasionally in-game.

Type of crash (freeze, crash out of program, have to restart machine, etc): When the game
starts, it's a crash out of the program. When I enter the room, stuff is stuck loading
until I ctrl+alt+del and end program. When I'm in-game, it crashes out of the program.

Wired Internet: Yes

Do you use alt+tab in order to go to your desktop? If yes, when? Waiting, harbor. Usually
when I'm checking Teamspeak.

V2CxBongRipz
OS in use: Win 7 Home Premium (sp1) 64 bit

CPU in use: AMD LE-1200 @2.1GHz

RAM installed: 3 gig

When you crash: Not often until recently

Type of crash (freeze, crash out of program, have to restart machine, etc):

I crash back to the desktop usually during the battle, right at the start, or at the
results screen.

Sometimes I crash when alt+tabing to the desktop and am unable to tab back. I have to end
process and reload.

I sometimes crash when I bring up the Xfire in game menu.

Wired Internet: Yes

Do you use alt+tab in order to go to your desktop? Yes

If yes, when?:

I alt+tab sometimes when in the waiting room or when sitting in the harbor/afk rooms.
Usually when alt+tabbed I am running Firefox (3.6).

I will also occasionally alt+tab during the battle to change a track or playlist on
Winamp. But possibly since I do not often do it I have not noticed any crashes while
tabbing under battle.

@jace95 what is your deal dude, you've spammed for about 4 pages with just numbers. That
is one of the stupidest things I've seen done on these forums.

You know, I wondered why this post had jumped up so high in replies in a matter of about
10 hours, but now I realize that most of it is because of jace95's spam posts. Could a FM
or TNF member please remove these spam posts so that this thread can remain true to the
Survey?

@ OP

OS in use: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)

CPU in use: AMD Turion II Ultra Dual-Core Mobile M600 2.4 GHz

RAM installed: 4 GB

When you crash: Upon entering a room, sometimes sitting in harbor, sometimes viewing the
Battle areas, and sometimes when loading Navyfield

Type of crash (freeze, crash out of program, have to restart machine, etc):

Upon entering a room: ships appear to never load, can't move ship to open spaces, can't
type in chat. To resolve this, I have to open the Task Manager and end the Navyfield
application.

Crash when sitting in harbor or viewing Battle areas: Crash to desktop and have to restart
the Navyfield process.

Crash when loading Navyfield: Loading screen freezes and spinning Navyfield banner at
bottom stops spinning. When this happens I have to open the Task Manager and end the
Navyfield application.

Crash to Desktop when loading Navyfield (just happened a few seconds ago - Time Stamp 1:56
PST) : Start to load Navyfield and immediately crash to desktop with a message stating
that Navyfield.exe has stopped working.

Upon all types of crashes, when I reload Navyfield it has to download several files to be
able to start playing again.

Wired Internet: Yes and No, have tried it on Wired and Wireless with same results.

Do you use alt+tab in order to go to your desktop? If yes, when? Sometimes yes, sometimes
no. I have tested alt-tabbing with the game at several different instances but it doesn't
replicate the crashing on any normal basis therefore isn't causing the crashes. I had
tried alt+tabbing on the log-in screen, when in harbor, when viewing the Battle Areas,
while in the Battle Ready room, and during actual battles.

Also, as reference, I can play games such as Starcraft 2, Diablo 2, Minecraft, League of
Legends, Hunting Unlimited 4, and other games on any graphics settings without those games
lagging or crashing on any instance so I know it is not an issue with my laptop.

Sindher
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium.

CPU: Intel i7 920 @ 2.67 GHz

RAM: 12 GB Ram

When you crash: In battle waiting rooms. It's them magical crash you dont realise has
happened until you notice the battleroom being extremely quite and people not loading.

Type of crash: Screen completely freezes and then I'll have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete the NF process.

Wired Internet: No.

Alt-tabbing: I alt tab all the time, but especially more so during the waiting times in
battlerooms.

On a side note: Most of the community knows its not their own PCs. I'm sure the majority
of us play high end games without problems. No crashing, no lagg and the other crap we
experience with NF.
