Quite literally.

(I had to cut the title a bit so it could fit. I apologize for the bad syntax)

Altough I won't lie, I got the inspiration from a certain someone, but I also think it would overall help that section to thin out spam and trolling.

I think the number of thread start on suggestion section should be limited to one per week or so/person.

My logic behind it, is to filter out the mass of "NERF XXXXXX ship!" topic that start, that are pretty much a rant of someone who just got sunk by such a ship, and the such.

The situation as I see it, the suggestion section is mainly a joke right now. How many of those were truly considered over the years? The only one I know of is Farazelleth's HA time chart.

Honestly, for every 1 truly tought off suggestion we get, we have 10 half tought line, born of a second frustration that contain more rant than idea. There is no backup, no explanation of the idea, just a "omg they should do this,  I'm so pissed off"

I like the idea of an open suggestion box, where we can all discuss the ideas, maybe even add to it, or get a better constructed idea in the end. But right now its not the case.

My solution I think would weed out a big part of those thread. How many really serious suggestions can someone come up with a week anyway? Over a year, the average is below one. Even more, if you do not take at least a few days to really think about it, how it would affect the game, why you think its an improvement to the current situation, you are not ready to post it.

If a week you have the brain working overtime and another idea pops up, write it down somewhere, start working on it. You don't have to post it right away.

Imo, if your idea isnt worth that week, if it isnt work a week of discussion and debate, if it isnt worth a week of thinking about it carefuly, and monitoring the people reaction to re-explain and reevalutate your point of view, I do not think its worth to be on the forum.

Someone still wants to post something on whim? They can do it. A week of silence after.

I won't hide I trolled a few of those suggestion I judged to be half tought and based on personnal wish rather than game-improving mentality, but that would also be reduced if less of those suggestions appear.

I see this suggestion about having a potential to eventually lessen the amount of new topics with already discussed ideas, a section where the main ideas would be easier to spot, and discussed as they deserve.

A section, in fact, that a GM could check out and take notes rather than try to avoid joking on his lunch watching it at lunch break.

On another linked idea to this forum : Have the possibility to organize the thread by # of recommandation, so obviously fail one fall back down and don't bother the real content.

I obviously know this idea can be circumvented by creating multiple accounts, but I think its worth looking at still.

Toughts?

good idea, this way people can actually think their suggestions all the way through.

please read again what I'm saying.

The point I'm aiming for is to have a cleaner suggestion section, encouraging well tought suggestions rather than rants.

Recommended.

Also, get rid of game balance from the suggestions; Move that to test server discussion.

Recced.

I'll see what I can do on my end :)

Edit for further explanation:

I think everyone should be able to suggest whatever they want, however, I would love to see more well planned suggestions that open a debate and are able to generate improvements to the game.

I do feel that being able to post only once a week, could limit people with very good ideas. Probably limiting to once a day (just like reccs) it's a manageable time-frame. I still like the overall idea.

I'd ask you keep off personnal insult, and do some research about what are really Nazi before throwing around a serious insult you apparently do not understand.

If you don't like the idea, fine, explain why, how you see it.

Your reaction is simply childish.

been noticing a lack of use of search function from people.

been on forums where you get points for contributing and lose points for spam. Costing more points for starting new threads will make some people think twice before posting.
