I was reading some nonfiction the other day, and I came across something intresting. I read that USA had carriers, remolded from barges, that carried only 20 or so fighters/bombers for cornated attack. I think these would be awesome to have in the game, so long as they counted as cl or ca not cv, like the morgami.
 
Edit: this idea hads gone a bit astray, i'm not saying add carriers to the game, just make t1s of us, uk, inj, (not km or sv) count as escort carriers, they could be in gb as 4 to a team or somthing to that effect, tho this might still not be a great idea...

That is the "Escort Carriers" USA and UK did use during WWII.

yep what tomm said, the bouge/attacker class are the CVE's

built on mercent ship hulls with cargo space for the planes and a flat top to take off and land. after the war a lot were converted into cargo ships and sold.

there was also the MAC ships which were tankers or bulk carriers with a flat deck over the top of cargo area so they could still carry cargo and provide air support for the convoy, these ships carried no more than 6 planes mostly on deck. (no hanger)

right then basicly what i'm saying is, make them not count as cv, for they stand no chance in GB

If we start asking to do this, other people will want the same.

To prevent the drama " Why he can, but not me?" better find another alternative. And remember it is SDE doing the change, just how many time have they sucessfully patch without screwing something?

They've been cv1s since the game came out. Why change now? Also consider that you won't see a cv1 in gb unless he has lvl 60+ crew on it for some reason.

Why IJN is the only nation that can use makeshift CVs that have no real limit in GB?

It gives incentive to try a new line or new nation. If we keep making everything the same there would be no point.

Like others have said, the Bogue and Attacker ( US and UK CV1 ) are escort CVs. A practical use for them in gb is to load mostly "local" or interceptors onto the ship and literally escort a few BBs by providing air support. You will be able to rid the skies of most enemy planes that will be scouting out your team. If you want to load bombers I wouldn't advise loading a whole bunch of them. I'm sure any of the BB players that you decide to escort will greatly appreciate the help in keeping the enemy blind.

Also like others have said, they should still be counted as CVs because they have always been and they are still a CV.... :D

May a forum mod close/move this thread since it's no point with this suggestion since NF already have theres escort carriers?
Btw answer to that player some wrote why IJN have hybrid cvs ships is for they was the nation some did have the most amount of cvs and was the only nation i know about some did make so many hybrid cvs to lift the carrier need since the lost 6-7 carriers during 2-3 years
