  • Armor whore North Carolina?

I was just wondering if the North Carolina could be armor whored into something like the Lion 2. Is it even possible? Based on the displacement it has I personally don't hink so but I would like to give it a try. Any opinions or tips on this matter would be helpful.

Not quite. but i'm sorry to say it doesnt work at all to bounce AP when you are at the mk7 max range. Still far from AW zone. H44 18" might bounce sometimes, but they bounce on unarmored target too.

Joke ship, sure. But he doesn't get to say you bounce all AP when its false. Especially the way he said it.

No he's just trolling you now, anyway as i stated in our other discussion USN ships certain ones can be AWed effectively i have proved this. But alas more people have sense to use AP now >.<


I do not tend to take stupidity of the average NF player in consideration to say if something works or not. Simply, you would have sunk those guys anyway. To know if a setup is good or not, check your chances against the good BB players.

Otherwise you'll finish as their food and go recommend a suggestion to cap GB to keep the mean farmers out.

you can only fit 6-7' of armor with 2 guns

you would have to fit lighter guns, have less binds and strip your crew in order to fit 9-10' needed

it will work, just alot worse than UK bb3's. If you try it and have success with it and enjoy it, then good for you, bb-1-3 rooms it might work pretty good. But im willing to bet that you will find that alot of GB2 games you will get completely owned

First of all, the point system no longer exist so starting such threads does not give you any points. Secondly, why not just try it out and test it for yourself? Then afterward you can share with us your findings :)

In terms of success I would expect much less in BB rooms than GB. The average players that join a BB room tend to be people that do better (earned xp room that draws more above average players). With 10' deck I'd wonder what your speed would be, 35 or less and your success in a BB room will be limited to against players that can not make use of their OH or AP.

Just remember, if you can't fit at least 8 inches of deck, then the entire thing of armor is worthless. (For U.K., the magic number is at 8.3. At 8.3 inches of deck, the damage of 16" shells suddenly drops. For other nations I would say at least 9 inches.)

For US to bounce 16" its more like 12-13" of deck, then that only bounces @ 40 degrees not 45...

There are some US ships that can really AW effectively but for most of them, It isn't a very great idea.
