In case anyone was wondering, they should change their passwords immediately.

There is a massive security hole in how accounts and emails are verified that I've been talking about for a week.

I have submitted a support ticket already, but it is a change that can't happen right away.

If you have given your account password out to anyone at all, change the password as soon as you read this.

Do not assume that having the trade password provides additional security!!!!!!!!!!!

The announcement stated that this website included increased security when, in fact, they've undone a few things and have completely opened up everyone to losing their account.

but the security of the account no longer exists ...
the second was the password that extra security is for nothing more ... mail account ... not used for anything else ...

everything can be changed directly on the site ... without any security!

For some reason I was unable to even change my email address. Anyway something needs to be done about this. We were given the second password for added security but all of a sudden it dosnt mean anything?

Also wordwrap seems to fail on these forums :D

I have an account that I allow fleet members to use to level their stuff or help level it for events. I really do not want to change the password and tell the people that helped level it that they can no longer access this. Something needs to be done about this situation.

Well it sounds like a security hole, but wouldn't they have to have your password for your previous email address and have access to that as well?

No thats whats messed up about this. It would be different if you needed to enter a confirmation code sent to the previous email address before changing things.

That's really messed up, I'm glad I saw that post about new website a few days ago and changed my pass right then and there.

What worries me is that no matter what sort of proof I can provide about the account owner and who payed for everything is that I'll get the old "sorry but it was a shared account speech"

Maybe SDE is thinking that this new way will help prevent people from getting too many free olives by just being on the NF forums for a string of consecutive days.

Also I guess these are the "fresh eyes" vick was looking for.

Did I say that out loud?
