Howdy
I suggest that SS1's be allowed into blitz games. The reasons are few but valid i think.
Since SS1 types are so slow, have short dive time and usually packing only 4 tubes, I dont see how they were not allowed into Blitz games (although i heard subs were quite powerful when they 1st came out).
Since a SS1 is not such a big threat it should be allowed into Blitz games. Fighting in Great Battle with SS1 is quite a letdown and they dont really have any place in the fleet except as sonar support or anti-sub, and the latter is usually futile unless the other sub is a SS1 as well.
A SS1 in Blitz games would not be overpowered considering they can only sink 1 or 2 ships at a time per salvo normally (and if they are lucky). As far as fighting against a sub in blitz, well we all know there are no shortages of Hedge Hogs in Blitz since many ppl like to 1 shot BB's or CA's with them...
Now for all you folks who say "subs would = fail in blitz" or "subs in blitz would be overpowered" I need only mention the Kita. The KitaKami is capable of single handedly destroying half a fleet with its torp walls, and if it doesnt destroy everything in its path it will push the entire enemy fleet to the outer fringes of the battlefield. A Kitakami is far more Overpowered in Blitz than a SS1 or even an SS2 could be, and yet it is allowed to enter a blitz game and suppress an entire team with its torp walls. Just 1 ship can do all that.. OP?
Despite all that, this is not a anti Kitakami post. This is about giving SS1's a proper battlefield and a chance to let people have more fun since it is discouraging to fight in GB as a SS1 when they simply are not up to such fights. Sure you might get lucky or even be a pro with a SS1 in GB (Prove it on youtube :-P) but the fact that so many ppl opt to pass SS1 altogether by leveling their sub crews in destroyers pretty much says it all eh?
Oh Navy Field devs, please accept this suggestion and make this game more fun, fair and balanced.
Thats all.
