Do you think Ron Paul is the only chance U.S. has for the near future? I'm not sure if political gander is aloud in NF
forums as I hadn't been here in a long time, but I just wanted to share that.

The speech is given by ron paul in 2007.

I think what we really need to do though is go back to our roots, have a smaller government, and become more of a republic as we were right now we have too man people with power and most of them corrupt. Either that or we just need a new form of government that gets rid of corruption :P (Socialism would really just about triple the corruption look at the USSR)

Edit: Sorry for any typos my keyboard on this laptop is half broken :P

I am one of the many americans that needs constant healthcare due to very complicated medical issues that could potentially kill me(And some that wont) such as high blood pressure, seizures, hypoglycemia, spine damage, nerve damage, sleep apnea, and the muscles in my knee are damaged also, at any point i could have a stroke, heart attack, or just simply go to sleep and never wake up.

I can't afford healthcare, i haven't seen a regular doctor in 2 years, i rack up debt every time i have to go to the ER just to get a 'bandaid' solution instead of getting the issue fixed, this countries healthcare system is so messed up people in africa have more access to medical care than most americans do and the sad thing is the people in power have absolutely no intent on fixing it.

And according to the government, i am still able to work while not being able to walk correctly and sit/stand for a long period of time without extreme pain.

I'm a military vet AND i have a great job. I'm set for healthcare for myself, while my spouse and kids have to use the corporate crap that my job gives me.

Long story short, my wife gets a concussion the other week. So I load her and the kids up and head to the new urgent care facility on the south edge of town. I pay the 30 bucks, the place isn't busy, she sees a doctor within five minutes. The doctor wants to give her a head CT to make sure it's not serious, and there's one right across the hall and it's not busy. That's the POINT of this new facility, it's hospital quality and designed to relieve overcrowding on the emergency rooms.

But then we learn WHY it's not busy. The doctor can't give her the head CT until the insurance company approves it. So we wait. Four hours. During that time there is only one other patient. At that point, the insurance company calls back and says that they cannot approve the procedure unless it's done at an emergency room.

Now I know why they did it. A cat scan costs about $1500. They want to make us wait, and then tell us to go to the ER where we'll wait another 8 or 10 hours. They know a concussion is usually minor, and they're banking on the fact that my wife will say "Screw it" and instead she'll go home and they won't have to pay for the medical scan.

That is exactly what happened, so their system worked.

Healthcare will always be broken in the United States until it is no longer done for profit and for the benefit for shareholders. Fixing that might be "socialism", but so freaking what? It's just common sense to enable our population to utilize the health care we as a society are capable of providing. Figure out a way to do it and just... do it. Dammit.

Want to know the kicker? if i go to some of the hospitals here in vegas ill just sit in a hospital bed, get told nothings wrong and sent on my way, ive gone to another one (Run by catholic healthcare west) that admitted me the week after for the same issue because it was life threatening, i was coded (Code White - Stroke) in the ER, rushed into the CAT scan to search for a clot immediately and i was upstairs in their neurology care unit within 5 hours granted it put me further in debt but they'll work with you on it, they dont expect money and even if you have an outstanding bill they dont harass you for money over the phone like some of these hospitals do, and since its a catholic hospital charity will pay all of your hospital expenses (Just not the costs for the doctor, and even then the doctors try to work with you as much as possible, i was there for 4 days and was only charged $300 by my neurologist and thats VERY cheap given the cost nowadays)

Also, the even sadder part is, i have all these issues at the young age of 19.

We need a more Humanitarian Government where the peoples care inside the country is first and foremost than outsiders. Unfortunately corporate capitalism has fallen under the impression trade and moneys given to foreign people are more important for profits on Wall Street than are the people working to get them there. Many people I know with work are working 50%+ more hours while many not working are struggling to get by. The peoples needs are last in the world anymore and we are all becoming slaves to the money system that is binding us all, no matter the country. For the economics of dollars are equally shared in today’s world economy, unfortunately brought on by corporate capitalism. Capitalism never was supposed to be this way for many decades America was seen as the one to keep communism in check now we are becoming the ruin of humanity for all nations. We must embrace drastic change before the ruin of all comes upon us.

Not unless he flips independent you're not. The Republican party won't give him the time of day, much less make him their nominee. He could win a whole bunch of states in the party primary, but they won't allow him to have the nomination. Vice President is his only real hope.

So other than the primary, if he doesn't jump to Libertarian party, he won't be on the ballot. (And if he does, he'll lose, because no independent has ever gotten more than 17% of the vote...)

We are very lucky up here fox, PHRC in peterborough is the busiest ER in ontario. But it is also one of the most unreliable atm, they don't like doing xrays or scans :/ But besides that, here's a cost figure for you.

Mental health in North Carolina at Moses Cone Behavioural health centre (personal experience on this one): $1400 per night

ER visit for a broken wrist at Moses Cone ER Greensboro, NC (personal experience): $800 dollars for initial treatment.

These are both with a workers discount due to my mum.

Your lucky, my bill for being in the hospital for 4 days was around $40,000 (Charity paid for it)

my ER bills total around $600 or more each time.

Myeah... My youngest kids were born in December 2008. Anna and Aiden, a minute apart. The insurance paid for Anna's birth 100%, but to this day they're telling me that Aiden is out of plan and I owe $17,000 for him.

Statistically, the insurance company denies a certain percentage of legitimate claims just to try and save their shareholders some money. Anna's twin brother was one of those. Thankfully OSU Hospital isn't buying their #&@% and isn't forcing me to pay for it.

They just need to change this 'For-profit' mentality and make it into something else, if it means socialized healthcare so be it (If that comes around i believe you should have to prove yourself to be a US citizen to receive any type of medical assistance and therefore try to stop the abuse of it by illegal immigrants, and reducing the number of 'anchor babies') canada manages to do it with less debt than we've got (I believe) same with the UK, Japan, China, Russia, Cuba (Hell lets just say everywhere)
