I was recently doing research on some of the ships in Navy Field, mainly the American ones, and realized that there were quite a few missing
(I know you can't have all ships from WW2, but some of these are major classes).  H
Here are a few ships I think should be added(possibly as remodels of existing ships in some cases):

Allen M. Sumners class (Similar to the Gearing)
Fletcher ASW (A modified fletcher that is optimized for anti submarine warefare with stronger health against torps)
Des Moines Class Heavy Cruiser
St. Louis Class Light Cruiser
Oregon City Class Heavy Cruiser
Worcester Class Light Cruiser
Fargo Class Light Cruiser
Balao class Submarine (122 were built, the most of any American submarine class, and some remained in service into the 1970s.  This sub was better than the Gato)
Narwhal Class Submarine (Mounted a 6 in deck gun, largest ever put on an American Submarine, but it wasn't as good as the Gato or other contmeporaries)
U-Boat Type XXI(also known as the elektroboot, possibly the best submarine of WW2, but only 2 were commissioned before the end of the war and never sunk a ship)
More to come

again, ain't gunna happen as SDE has it's queue locked up for unifying the source codes and debugging and balancing the Russians and the Frenchies. and PS, the Des Moines were commissioned AFTER WWII in 1948, so to say that the were superior to the Baltimores would be moot, as the De Moines did NOT engage in ANY action during WWII/

Lol, it wouldn't be the first time that ships that were commissioned after World War 2 were put into the game. Two of the American Carriers, the Ticonderoga and the Midway were not operational till after the war. Also, the Oregon City Class could be a remodel of the Baltimore, since it was essentially a baltimore with a different superstructure design to enhance AA firing arcs.
St. Louis would be a remodel of the Brooklyn, with larger T slots for twin 5/38s and better powerplant. It had a higher pressure rating on its boiler, meaning more horsepower than the Brooklyn.

And what do you mean by queue locked up for unifying the source codes? How does that affect the games development and why did they do it. And earlier you were saying that they were adding new subs. Are they not doing that anymore?

Anyway, doing a bit more research I noticed that there were many other submarine classes between the V boats and the Gato class. As far as I can tell, all the subs in the US navy tree are o boats, s boats, and V-boats with the exception of the Gato. It would probably be better to replace some of them with the boats that are more modern than the O-Boats, but less so than the Gato. These classes were the Porpoise class, Salmon Class, Sargo class, and Tambor class. I wouldn't use all of these boats, because many of them are similar to the Gato, but perhaps get rid of the O class and make the S class the SS1, the O saw little or no action, it was only used for training. The S class actually saw combat and though not great as a whole class, some of the S boats did well. The only V boats that were active during WW2 as combat ships were the Narwhal type boats, the Dolphin, and the Cachalot class. The Barracudas never saw any action, and Argonaut was not made for combat in the traditional sense (was a mine layer and then troop transport, it was sunk without ever launching a single near successful attack). The less modern S type performed better than most of the V boats, the exception being Narwhal and the Cachalot class (though in terms of actual combat, the S-boats did better than the cachalots even.) So here is the list, S-Boat, Cachalot, Narwhal, (Dolphin or some boat after Dolphin but before the Gato, perhaps the Sargo class since the Sargo had the distinction of sinking the first Japanese ship to be sunk by US forces on entry into WW2) Gato, and Balao in that order for the revised American sub tree.

I think the US destroyers need to be changed around so that the Fletcher class is a tier 2 DD. The new tier 1 US DD should be the Clemson class. For this to be feasible the Fletcher should be moved up to lvl 17 therefore its gun sized can be dramatically up sized to fit the sing 5inch DP L with at least 4 binds of ammo. All other ships up to the Brookyln and Northampton should have their minimum level requirement increased by 2 levels. The one that will be most affected would be the Gearing class. The Gearing DDR would be drop and be replaced by the normal Gearing while the base ship of the Gearing would be the Allen M. Sumner class

or maybe just wait for them to add in the Italy Nation for new ships to play? and of course, the inevitable excessive crashing while they debug the crash issues that their their adding that nation to the game has caused.
