Everybody in NF says
"KM armor is not good" - "use 0,2 on deck and belt, no more, so you can have good speed" - "KM have more range"
"KM have faster ships"

I was tired to hear that “universal truths” and run a little analysis about this myths.

Myth 1 - Range: is real that KM have more range than other nations, but at the same time KM shells have, usually, less damage.
True, but not useful in practical combat situation because target are moving.

Myth 2 - Speed: If 1-2 knots in same ship level make a difference, really don´t know

Myth 3 . ARMOR (this is the key point): The big problem that KN has is armor.
Most players will agree with me that when you fight against a Lion 1 with your H39 and hit him, Lion keep moving to you.
But, Lion hit H39 2.3 times, you go to the bottom.
This make me think, why KM armor is so ineffective?. I use RN armor as Base.

To OP:

 

WHat it comes down to is that you should use .2 belt and as much bulge as to not lose speed. Deck is useless and your much better off using that displacement for extra bulge.

 

KM is a range nation. KEEP YOUR RANGE AT ALL TIMES. If you let enemys get you into their range your dead. Simple as that. I see way to many people thinking H39 and H44 are meant for rushing. They line fight and dont keep their range. Resulting in their death as noobs.

 

KM does have the least damage per shell. But that doesnt mean you dont pack a punch. Many people seem to understimate that by thinking "oh its just a H44.. he wont hurt me". Those are the people i kill in a couple of salvoes resulting in them raging.

 

So to make things short:

 

-KEEP RANGE AT ALL TIMES!

-DONT USE DECK ARMOR. ONLY .2 BELT AND AS MUCH BULGE AS YOU CAN WITHOUT LOSING SPEED

-USE YOUR AA. KM HAS EXCELLENT AA SO WHY NOT USE IT?

Km ships, especially h39 and h44 are Godly ships to drive against their own tiers. A properly driven h39 will dominate bb4 games and same goes for h44 in a bb5 game. The key to success with these ships is to know how to use your range to your advantage. NO I'm not referring to always running away but actually slingshot your targets. You tilt head in, shoot front gun, then whip your tail out and shoot. You enemies will most likely retreat abit, which means you just pushed them back, or they get hit by your shells. That's how you play it.

Nice post Mezak hopefully we get some help from sde.  I usally just get 1 shotted though its rare i take 3 :(

 

btw its still just hear say but .2 helps keep the salior deaths down.

Thanks Slasher. I just try to explain why KM ships blows in 2 shots, like battlecrusiers in WW1 and 2.  Some peoplo understand what I try to post here and others no.

Range is important, but spread and damage are too.

Ok to add to this YES you can AW KM ships bith H39 and H44 can be AW'd however just like the lower tier RN BB's you will not be able to use the common or at level guns.

 

How do I know this? Simple I AW'd a H44 and put the Opro II tripple 14.95's on each slot, I was now a hybrid of Monty and KGV. However I had to make alot of drastic changes and this was done on the test server back when I was testing France.

1. had to remove AA guns

2.had extra displacment to spare(No T guns or Sailors)

3.Had very low speeds similar to a Arizona back in 08.

 

But the Pro's  were good in my opinion.

1. Near BB4 range (light shells)

2. Low gun abblity needed to blockshot

3. High firepower with x4 Tripple 14.95's

 

But then take into consideration this, Most KM players choose speed and enginers over reps, meaning the average KM setup usually involves more engineer's then repairmen. This is vise versa for RN. Another feature is most RN AW's are only 2 gun setup that are either tripple or quads. KM only has 2 sets of tripples in the BB line one for Opro II and one for Kaser. So the damage is reduce compared to RN.

In the end RN plays the oppiate of KM, RN is slow armoed and strong firepower, KM Fast quick shooting and elusive. Your not forced to play theses ways its just more os using your nations perks to your advantage, and people do.

Which is easier said than done in GBs, where you're blind half the time.

Please show me the BB4 games.  All I see are GBs, infested with BB5s that are more than happy to oneshot/cripple my H39.  Slingshotting won't make any of them back off - with the crap damage and spread, what's to be afraid of?

I´m think that Km is a nice nation to play, and most of new players, like me when started on NF, choose KM because of fmae good fame that German ships have in real life.
En NF it´s dissapointing the behaivor of KM ships because like you point, H39 and H44 wont hold more than 2 salvos before get cripple of sunk.

Today I saw a Itallian BB4 in action, and sunk a Lion 2, 30000 health, with 2 (YES: TWO) salvos.

You also point to two other disadvantages of KM: Spread and Damage, they are ridiculus.

wow, can anyone READ, he said that he simply wants to know WHY! why is KM armor lame, u dont need to correct him or anything like that cause thats not the point, he is asking about the GAME BALANCE thats all, I dont even pickup him whining so that doesnt even need to be addressed either

 

the whole point(im paraphrasing): WHY IS KM BALANCED THIS WAY, thats all
