Everybody in NF says
"KM armor is not good" - "use 0,2 on deck and belt, no more, so you can have good speed" - "KM have more range"
"KM have faster ships"

I was tired to hear that “universal truths” and run a little analysis about this myths.

Myth 1 - Range: is real that KM have more range than other nations, but at the same time KM shells have, usually, less damage.
True, but not useful in practical combat situation because target are moving.

Myth 2 - Speed: If 1-2 knots in same ship level make a difference, really don´t know

Myth 3 . ARMOR (this is the key point): The big problem that KN has is armor.
Most players will agree with me that when you fight against a Lion 1 with your H39 and hit him, Lion keep moving to you.
But, Lion hit H39 2.3 times, you go to the bottom.
This make me think, why KM armor is so ineffective?. I use RN armor as Base.

Zalmon, you trully understand the point.
SDE intrduce italy with high firepower miniature ships and bring more unbalance to the game, in BB.

I saw (and suffed) like voss315 said to be oneshoted or crippled by DBs while other nations BB´s don´t bother about them. Could be because KM have an excelent AA, and that is called balance. Really don´t know.

The why is not just a simple answer. Balance and national advantages all get taken into account in theory when the development was done.

KM is about speed and range, yes you can AW some in the KM line but that is the rare exception.

KM armor is fine but the weight to benefit is the issue, and in that you need to look at each separately.

Bulge - Mederately effective @ moderate cost @ moderate weight
Deck - minimally effective @ moderate cost @ excessive weight
Belt - very effective @ minor Cost @ low weight
Bulkhead - very effective @ minor Cost @ low weight

So looking at the above you can use Bulge, belt, and bulk and get a benefit but not Deck.
