  • Why ECV are NOT good for CV play or Navyfield

    02. 23. 2012 15:54

So the issue, other than total lack of players, is a lack of cv drivers. The answer is the ECV......I think not.
This is going to push more people away from cv lines, why bother levelling a cv BO when your BB one can
drive an ECV at 70 ish and PCV at 100. Ok so you're never going to have a CV6 but the PCV are not that
far of and you will have a BB bo to boot (or why not just another ss BO). You can even buy your CV crew
on prem trade so absolutely no need ever to level a cv line ever.

Yes you'll see a few days of people getting there ECVs so rooms will be full of them but the chances are
they wont have a clue how to use a cv, probably only have 1 pilot on board and piss everyone else off
and make them leave the game as they are sick of being blind/unsupported by the cvs sitting at the
spawn point.

This isn't meant to be a rant, it is a serious. SDE who provided a lovely statement of plans for 2012
with lots of promises, one glaringly obvious omission was ECVs, not mentioned at all in there plans,
although there isn't time for HA mode and windows 7 patch. Stop wasting time on additions that are
going to make the game worse and fix the issues.

THIS IS NOT A CV RANT
It is highlighting that the introduction of ecv will reduce the cv players.

I like the idea of a cv win to qualify though. And stop supports working on t slots, I like it but many wont.

BB players need to quit bitching about CV players, and learn to not rely on them. There is a reason we have secondary slots for AA!!!! not for those extra 2 reps.

alot of problems would be solved if SDE would just turn around and disable the ability to put supports in T-Slots where they dont belong, thus "forcing" players to learn to AA to protect themselves

BAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well they made scouts for BB's not for CV's
so just use them since you said
"probably only have 1 pilot on board "

and let me say it to you like this
"CV'S ARENT SUPPORT SHIPS FOR YOU OR ANY BB PLAYER THAT DOESN'T WANT TO
USE THEIR SCOUTS"

Right, CVs are support ships that are supposed to protect their team from BWs and from Fighters camping BBs that actually want to scout.

No, CVs are by far the most important ships in a GB.

However, once the blind or useless (or a combination of the two options) BBs are out of the way, nothing is going to stop the other teams slightly less blind or stupid BBs from roflstomping the other team.

As such, a certain amount of teamwork is required to consistently do well; Which SDE will not allow.

The ECV's will make it better imho. I really don't care if there are more or less CV6 drivers. As long as the CV scouts it doesn't matter if it's a bb or CV BO on board. This just gives people a chance to play CV more while lvling up their pilots. A BB player that doesn't know how to scout with a CV has no business calling CV's noobs. The really bad CV players are the ones that have never played as a BB. I considdered myself a good CV player before I played BB, but after having played as a BB I tweaked my gameplay and now I'm better.

BBs are more important in the sense that as a whole they must stay alive and keep the line. CVs arnt needed for a GB but when they are there each individual CV is more important to a team then an individual BB. The less CVs in a room the more important it is for each individual CV to pull its own weight and be doing something.

They are not doing this to balance the game or make CV's more valuable. They are doing it simple because its an event to draw people back with a shiny new ECV.

Idk about you guys but when someone offers something to me for free I take it...remember drugs are expensive. JK :)
