Easy, just have the same type of warning like when it flashes torpedo in sight, but when ships are crossing. Easy fix, damn good solution.

Just make it so that your crosshair's turn red when a ship is crossing you....

I think that'd be much less annoying than a popup message.

ok so i have thought about this problem quite a bit been playing nf to know that this creates quite a problem... the best and most realistic solution to this problem would have to be coppying the line of code from running aground the classic "you have hit the rocks press v to reverse" both ships take severe damage and must reverse to get out of it... i mean what happens in real life when two ships run into one another.... one magically lifts out of the water and flies over the other one like in nf... or a warning like dont shoot you will tk... easier to copy a bit of code...

Noooo no no no no. God no. Can you imagine the chaos at the start of each battle? Heck, if you wanted "realistic" (aside from go outside and do something that isn't a video game) then two ships hitting each other would pretty much mrean game over for both. It wouldn't be a fun solution, and the day after it was implimented I would forsee hundreds of complaints about how it makes slightly grazing beside a teammate's ship result in both getting stuck, shot and dead. To say nothing of the havoc subs could do breaching the water under or close to a BB.

For everyone who's awesome idea is "the warning is me firing through their faces", do you really think that the warning is for the person who turned onto someone else? If you turned, it's either cuz you had to (avoid a sub, getting shot, etc) or because your parents did a terrible job with you and you're a fool for crossing for no good reason.

The warning is to protect the person firing, so they don't lose exp and waste a volley of shells they are currently expecting to hit their target. It's not to protect the person who is interfering and crossing on a ship that is actively engaged with it's target. The ship who gets shot either gets hurt and reps or, less frequently, just plain dies. Though it's not usual circumstance to be a large ship and get completely one-hit by crossing another BB for any reason.

Personally I'm impartial to either a warning or an affect on guidelines. I myself think the warning actually fits the feel of the game better the same way we have "enemy ship in sight, plane in sight, torpedo, etc" in a vocal warning. However you'd immediately see when your turret is over another ship, so I see that as more efficient I guess.
