I'm sure we all know what it is by now, this thread is simply here to show how many people disapprove of this new Pay-To-Win system.

If SDE wants to ruin our game, we will ruin their income.

*EDIT*
100+ Reccs Now? Not Bad...
Guess All I Can Say To SDE Is:

To top it off I got another turning speed item free from drop. So that's a bit of a saving on $$.

Thank you. Every time something changes everybody runs around screaming that the sky is falling. If people have some faith in the test team things will be ok.

I approve of the Ship Tuning feature.

Minor improvement on my KM SS5 (10 seconds of extra air) had negligible effect on outcome or game play.   (underwater movement at 21 knots for 10 seconds is not a lot of distance covered, even at 34 knots in OH, it does not make even a difference in outcome or gameplay).  However for SS1 and SS2, that extra 10 seconds can make a difference.

I recommend continuing with tuning system.  Minor adjustments and new features can continue to come out of development.  OP'd ships will be identified and adjusted.

I have not witnessed any OP'd ship dominate and crush anyone with extra tuning features.

It has been the other way round, actually.

Because of us "running around" etc., the test team's input was listened to by SDE. You may not have noticed, but a lot of tuning items that were initially planned didn't get implemented (DP increase, R-slot increase...), others were much reduced in their potency (airtank +10s instead of +10%...). I remember Randy's (of SDE) post at the beginning of this whole saga ignorantly stating that +5/10% does not make anyting OP... yeah right.

To those who keep asking why this thread is being ignored, personally, I find it hard to take this thread seriously for one main reason.

Iit was made over a month before the system was even released, while it was valid at the time, it should have been a call for changes to the system which was still being developed, not a call to stop it altogether. That's just plain ignorant and silly. The majority of these recc's are from before the system received the bulk of it changes and before the community really had the chance to see how it would turn out.

I think you're wrong. I don't think this thread did anything. The test team exists for this reason. SDE said what they wanted, and the test team told them what would fit their vision. While SDE gets all the credit/blame, the only thing they did was give a general idea of what they wanted. It was said from the start that the numbers they have were just estimates, and in no way final. The ship tuning system would have taken this path of implementation regardless of how many people complained. You need to start realizing the way things work on a larger scale. This is how huge corporations do things. The head brass gives a mission statement and it's the underlings job to make that happen to the most benefit of the company.

Just consider this thread as a worry cry from the players (even some ppl are plain irrational). Obviously I too was worry hearing SDE ppl stating 6 slots of 5-10% improvment items doesnt make a ship OP.

Exactly. That is the reason why I don't accept Benser's critique here - I think our "outcry" helped a bit to push SDE away from implementing the system as originially planned, which would have been disastrous for balance.

As it is now, I can live with it - thanks very much indeed to everybody on the test team.

I did, and I listened and tried.

My point was, this thread is starting to fail to serve its purpose, as valid complaints about the system as it is now are only being compounded ontop of the original fear it brought when it was introduced. And some people are obviously using multiple accounts to cast multiple reccs which is just dumb.

You know, for just about ANY Suggestion with 150+ reccs, someone says it's the result of Multi-Accounting. Maybe 179 people honestly DONT WANT ship tuning at all.

Also, some people have changed their minds, but there is no un-recc button. So all the people that hated the ptw +10% retard boost system still have their votes registered here.
