I will say this for such a peaceful County/religion why is it when a know Terroist such as
bin laden is killed we now need to fear a counter attack...

Muslims who have come to america to earn their citizenship that i personal know say its
because they don't want to live in there own county because they don't support what
there fellow citizen are doing.

What does that say about the people who want to stay there?

Stop the AID to countys who support Terroist such as pakistan!

@masc24

Not sure what you're getting at, but since these people have made a habit of
capturing westerners and beheading them live on TV, perhaps we should return the
favor and do the same to them.

I'm not one to believe in "but we're above such acts", for some people deserve a
taste of their own medicine.

@philipM

Respect? Certain people DO NOT deserve respect, whether in life or death.
Especially someone that intentionally targets harmless people to maximize panic and
disrupt a society's way of life. Screw him and may he rot in hell.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree, the death of bin Laden doesn't mean the end of terrorism, or anti-west
sentiment. It's more of a symbolic victory, that retribution has finally been bestowed
on the mastermind of a heinous act.

There will always be societies and countries that despise the west for the things
they do. But I've always wondered, if the tables were turned and these oppresed
countries were actually the superpowers instead, would they have behaved any
differently?

To be honest, I believe they'll be bigger monsters than the current countries they
condemn.

The Geneva Convention only applies to uniformed members of the armed forces of the signing
members.

Any spy or improperly uniformed person captured are not covered by said treaty.

To be on the safe side we always insist that low lvl military personnel are trained to
treat everyone according to the geneva convention rules. Once the prisoners are processed
they are then turned over to the appropriate areas warranted by their protection or lack
thereof according to the treaty.

Question of nations capable of a long term military occupation.

Only three nations currently have the ability to attack, conquer and occupy a foreign nation.

US
India
China

No other current countries have the assets to do so unless you count micro engagements.
(Micro engagement=attacking a substantially weaker military of a substantially smaller
nation.) For example Russia jumping Georgia.

"The Canadians have never fought a war on
their own, much less led a military operation singlehandedly"

Look at WWI, though we didn't run an operation (I think,) we still were the best
troops of the War.

Canadian Spec. Forces take SEAL training and complete it successfully, then they
come back to Canada, and take OUR training which is worse than anything the US
Army/Air Force/Navy/Specs have to offer. We have the best marksman on the planet,
and has been proven time and time again.

We may be small, but we will kick your *ss

Anyway, they knew where Osama was for years, they just milked this war for all it
was worth... War = Money (One of the consequences of War = death of civilians).
You don't think nothing is going on when you see a village of 10x10 huts, and then a
big fu**ing mansion.... And they say Osama didn't have internet, telephone, TV, or
any of that sort. YEAH RIGHT.

I'm not hating, as I'm glad the man who nuked the WTC, attempted to destroy the
White House, and the Pentagon is dead. I also do not blame any country for not
wanting that sick son of a b**ch burried in their own land, which is why they dumped
him into the sea.

Gas prices in some parts of Canada went down to a $1.06 after the announce of
Osama's death. I lol'd.

@both fox's and other guy who said US weapons supply canada

Canada runs with a German tank, it isn't trained by the UK anymore. US forces are trained
in winter conditions by canadian troops, and true canada has never fought a war on it's
own but the canadians are known as shock troopers for a reason. The C series of weapons
are developed by a canadian branch of colt, not the American side of it.

Back on topic though, yes i agree with ya foxfire about them kicking him off the deck of
the carrier.

But in all actuallity we made him more of a martyr than anything at this time.

Well to the Canada thing the problem is Canada doesnt use its Miliraty for Defense and its
all 100% volunteer, while trained by UK and supplied with US weaponry making it a hybrid
armed service of two good western military's, the main problem being is Canada it's self.
Canada has never fought it's own war and will more then likely never will, Canada doesnt
have much that any nation would even want, hell if it had and real vaule to nations the US
would have taken it by now. Not to diss Canada but if you declare war on Cananda and not
the UK and US also your just the laughing stock of the world.

As for Israle again not so much, the IDF is well its in the name Defense Force true they
have attacked neighbors and invaded them on several occasions and made "Occupations"
theses are never long term and are usually to gain a better 'Defensive" stance and is more
of a Defensive offense force, Israle could never occupy any of its neighbors and keep its
"Security" good as well and with the current revolts in Sryia and new goverment in Egypt,
and a few years back the Assualt on Lebanon, Israle's focus is on nations like Iran that
seem hellbent to blow them off the face of the earth and re lead by pure morons, or some
over zelous terriosts that is wiling to cause death and destruction.

As for Russia why they dont have the massive support like when they were Soviets, True
they pose a threat but how far would russia get before the west came and pushed them back?

Oh back on topic the reason Bin Laden was burried at sea was some muslim law that states
dead bodies but be "Burried" within 24 hours of death still just because his body was
dumped in the ocean dont make it seem like it was a "Honorable" death more then likely
they put a towel around him and kicked his ass off the flight deck of the Carol Vincent.

this little quote from candidate Barack Obama

밯hat I have said is we're going to encourage democracy in Pakistan, expand our
non-military aid to Pakistan so that they have more of a stake in working with us,
but insisting that they go after these militants. And if we have Osama bin Laden in
our sights and the Pakistani government is unable or unwilling to take them out,
then I think that we have to act, and we will take them out. We will kill bin Laden.
We will crush al-Qaida. That has to be our biggest national security priority.?
Ref: Second presidential debate: foreign policy, Oct. 7, 2008

and just to refresh your memory on some memorable Bush actions regarding Osama
bin Laden:

In March 2002, just six months after 9/11, Bush said of bin Laden, "I truly am not
that concerned about him.... You know, I just don't spend that much time on him, to
be honest with you."

In July 2006, we learned that the Bush administration closed its unit that had been
hunting bin Laden.

In September 2006, Bush told Fox News Analyst Fred Barnes, one of his most
sycophantic media allies, that an "..emphasis on bin Laden doesn't fit with the
administration's strategy for combating terrorism."
