Well, it's been an ongoing problem with NF. Most rooms fill to 20 BB's and everyone MUST
wait (with the invention of GBII) long periods of time for the room to start. This is a serious
turnoff to new players and any MMO needs player base growth to keep the game alive.

So the question is:

Why do you think the servers have low CV activity?

My observations,

-Monotonous fighter biased gameplay. BB's go blind and become aggravated at you.
-Shared XP resulting in weak rewards for being successful.
-AA ships. Cause and affect. AAW'ing is the only practical form of getting experts. With ships
like the Mandel, it's getting a little ridiculous. Moltke's and Pensacola's are bad enough.
-Low fuel on planes. I've noticed this hurts TB usage as it's difficult to regroup them after
the "low fuel" mark is hit.
-Lack of CV content. Especially when you compare it to BB content.
-Small diversity between cv nations.
-Shared CV6's between IJN/KM and US/UK
-No real advantage of owning a CV6 over a PCV. PCV in some ways is better since you can
use a support on the BO slot.

Discuss.

Meh, if people want to use locals, let them use locals.
I'll enjoy the free food later on...

locals are like auto fcs
play them if you want to, it will be way easier in the inmediate time
but you will suffer the consequences eventually
a player that ised T1/T2 will get their T3 with the right skill level to make a diference
among other lvl75-99 CVs
a local user will get to lvl 75 and he will start learning at that point, he will be food
for the frist player

every BB player has to suffer to learn aiming FCS and they beter do in CL/CA levels where
they can still make a fair amount of exp while learning
learning aiming at BB3/4 level is as terrible as using locals up to lvl 75

If you use locals, you are going to learn nothing about micro mang. Use T1, T2, T3s, I
think T4s are just retarded but only my opinion...

I'm sorry m8 but I learned a great deal from my experience with T1 fighters. You do
realize that T1s have been buffed since I first used them too dont you?

Again, I disagree. A new player needs to learn how to control his planes, even if they are
getting blown out of the sky. You can't learn anything with a local.

Leveling another CV in a different nation or bringing up a different crew is something
altogether seperate. I just want to clarify that I'm talking about the driver learning how
to fly.

@ V2

I'm not saying people should use locals only.
I'm trying to say that you just CANNOT learn anything about micro from using T1.

Just think about it.
What can i do with a low level T1 fighter squadron...

Kill bombers - Thay can barely reach them... and higher level bombers will likely kill
them instead.
Dog fight - Everyone will roflstomp you no matter how well you micro.
Drag - Barely possible against T3 and virtually impossible against T4.

How i am supposed to learn ANYTHING if i cannot tell the difference between bad micro and
the bad stats of my pilots/aircraft.

Sure locals may be effortless but at least they are not hopeless.
Imo T1 shoud be skipped and used only by high level CVs (with high level pilots) who are
bent on scouting.

I agree with avoiding the use of locals. Had I not used them in blitz, I would have had
more time to improve on employing my fighters correctly. Locals range is SO short that
except for using them as a CAP, they are worthless. BBs don't want fighters over there
heads, so what good are they? There are piles of threads out there about what to do with
your T1/2s. I just got done dealing with it, so I know it can be done.

Also, when talking about the all fighter CVs, I wasn't stating that this should be changed
in any way. My point is just that it makes a tough game a lot tougher, thats all.

I also observed some PCV vs CV6 action. I assumed that the CV6 would have the edge and was
I mistaken. The CV6 was terrible, 3 games in a row. I guess this is a statement not only
to the slight difference in advantage between the two ships, but also a statement that
anyone can level a ship up and still suck.

@ Sonlirain:

What we are trying to tell you is that locals teach you nothing that will help you later
on. If more people would see low level ships as learning tools rather then stepping stones
the game would be a better place.

I find it funny how people tell new CVs to not use locals.
Guess they forgot how crappy are at lvl T1 when it comes to stopping bombers (or anything
that flies including scouts) because they:

Have bad speed
Have low attack power

On top of that having low level pilots flying them only enlarges those disadvantages
because seeing 5 bombers with 4 fighters on their tail whose guns seem to hit the air only
is more than depressing.
How can anyone learn from using those fighters? Even if you do the micro right the
fighters willl inevitably FAIL (getting shot down by the bombers they were chasing included)

Locals on the other hand... thay are powerfull and let low level CVs do some effective FC.
Its a choice between scouting and doing FC for lower level CVs and once you hit the level
cap for locals your pilots will be good enough to do regular FC aainst bombers without
risking depression and suicide.
