  • Why do you personally not come to test sessions?

Hey everyone. Just an open question.

We need people to help with battletesting and give their opinions on them during
test sessions. Obviously, if you couldn't make this weekends due to a one off event,
that isn't the point of the thread, its for those that don't attend whatsoever.

Is it because you would rather gain exp on the main server? (A valid point, if that is
your opinion, please tell us that).

Is it due to lack of rewards?

Is it due to the account system there, and having to class all the crew?

Is it due to technical issues?

Or, are you just not interested (again, a valid point)?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On top of that, not many people partake in the test server discussion board. What
are the reasons for that?

Just my small contribution

"Is it because you would rather gain exp on the main server? (A valid point, if that is
your opinion, please tell us that)." ?Well, Sire I have begun college, so I've got very
little time to spare in this game. Even in testing, I still have to attend my old acount.

"Is it due to lack of rewards?" ?Actually, the first time I entered the Ts (=test server)
was because of Angus' MN testing sessions (one day, a million creds. I needed them for
Bismarck and Seydlitz).

"Is it due to the account system there, and having to class all the crew?" ?While I admit
that classing sailors on Ts is kind of time-consuming, if thou art peeved by that, then
thou shockest me (sic).

"Is it due to technical issues?" ?Lag is about the same as painful in normal servers, so...

"Or, are you just not interested (again, a valid point)?" ?Well, I am interested, but
probably most average players doesn't.

Auf Wiedersehen.

"I believe the back lash of more experianced game mechanic players, sets the tone of
why most ppl dont download and contribute"

I couldn't agree more.

I will have to say because alot of ppl dont have the experiance to test ships and
give a qualified sugestion that wont be put down, or trashed on, there are ppl who
just play the game, and could really care less about the balance, or choose to ignore
it

they adapt

I for one have tried to download the server, and I have issues with it working, so I
just said forget it

bottom line ppl are brutal in this game when ppl dont know as much as others, and
it dosent make ppl want to contribute to the cause, just to be made to look stupid in
others eyes

In order for ppl to test and be a part of it, they need to know the mechanics of the
game, they almost need to know everything there is to know about ships and how
they should be nerfed or buffed to help, and sad to say most ppl dont get that into
games to know all that, or willing to learn it, because to them its unimportant

I think its good that the community gets a shot at testing new material for this
game, but trying something out, and being able to comment on it in a mecanical tech
talk is something entirely different

I believe the back lash of more experianced game mechanic players, sets the tone of
why most ppl dont download and contribute

just my 2 cents

@ Audessy

It's the same people who turn up because they care. However I myself have only recently
started helping the test group after talking to rehor about live server inbalances.

Already personally i've tried to help fix CV hulls, planes, levels and alot of work on the
functioning of submegance and its link to ship displacement. Acctualy participation and
helpful work is appreciated, even if its just turning up to test ranges and ship hits.

The test server gives us a valuble test platform to acctually test new content and balance
it into line with the current core nations. France was a quick copy paste job making it
horribly unbalanced with korean stats, and the soviets would have been the same had we not
stepped in and done some major work.

More needs to be done to finish MN & SU balance. But it doesn't end there, we have a real
oppertunity to fix things like T4fighters &T5 scouts, the lvl110 guns, the Italian Navy
(when it comes) and anything else that the community feels looking into.

Come help me this weekend, maybe I can arrest your fears of testing tyrany.

Fara.

Reason: I haven't figured out how to get to the test server :P I downloaded the stuff,
but it won't load or anything and personally, I have better things to waste my time on.

LJ made this post because there's a problem with the attendance of testing. So I'll paint
a picture for you.

If the same small handful of people are the only one's with voices, then it becomes a
hierarchy. And hierarchy's are bad. If proper poll's are not made and general opinions of
the majority of the player base are not heard it's a hierarchy. In a perfect democracy, if
people don't vote, then democracy fails.

Don't get me wrong, if massive amounts of players always showed up to testing then I'd
agree that it should remain. But I don't want the opinions of several guys to be inflicted
upon the hundreds or thousands of other players that just want to play the game.

"Angus said,

"On a serious note, the lack of any interest will mean that the testing server will be shut
down if it isn't used. "

Good "

People like you are the reason we don't get nice things.
