  • False complaints = temporary ban for the complainer?

    05. 31. 2011 15:41

Starluck
Greetings,

I submit that any player that submits a complaint that is investigated by a
Moderator and the conclusion that the player doesnt know the rules should result in
a temporary ban to teach these people to read all the rules on game play and forum
posting.

My reasons why:

#1 I have been threatend by one game mod humping ships with my sub.

#2 I have been threated by one game mod for asserting that Fleet Team NF
players are consideredc a priority target and we enjoy sinking them.

#3 I have multiple players complain and threatend to have me banned every time
I hump a ship for air in my submarine. I am forced to defend myself and screen
capture the text chat exchange incase #1 and/or #2 happen again. Even mods
have to learn the rules. Precise/exact rules addressing every situation has not yet
been concluded and are under developement, but humping has been precisely
defined as legal any/which/way you can manage it.

#4 I notice that every time an issue regarding humping is brought up including the
use of border humping with planes and ships, the post get locked because the issue
has been settle years ago yet there is no effort or way to force every player to learn
and acknowledge all the rules resulting in false complaints which are sometimes
taken seriously by game mods.

#5 Players attempt to turn posts in to player bashing, or trying to go off topic.
There is a brand new set of rules the forum moderators must follow. These new
rules coorelated to the fact that players either dont know the rules or refuse to
follow them.

Question: Why should players whom follow all the rules undergo player bashing, in
game threats and harrasment simply because players dont know the rules. Its ok to
disagree with the rules, but not know the rules is no excuse to attack other players
regardless of which rules you disagree with this would include the follow:

BBs without Scouts
CVs without Fighters
Ships humping the borders
Aircraft humping the borders
BBs with smaller guns
Submarines humping ships without guns or HH to defend themselves

Cleaning the thread from off-topic comments have started, but in this thread there is a
fine line of what is off-topic and what has been a development of your initial arguments.

I recommended you to develop more on the idea of general false complaints, but people
answer to what they understand the topic is about.

I could clean the whole thread since page 1, but it will end in the same place since your
initial arguments can send it there again.

I've humped plenty of CVs while playing small ships BUT - when a BB or another ship
that can potentially do more damage than I can gets into range, I steer away. I will
also do this if the CV is marked by a CV on my team. It's just common sense. There's
no Kill stealing etc - it goes both ways - sometimes you get the last shot in, sometimes
someone else does - it's likely to even out over time. Hump it and gather your air it's
fine, but if someone else has the opportunity to attack get out of the way.

And I'm not sure about your complaints in general starluck. People complain about your
CV play in game and you will retreat even as a flag. If you want to report people for being
abusive that's fine but you will whine and retreat when requested to provide better cover
in your CV (Overly sensitive). What does that say about someone who pretty much costs
their team the game by retreating as flag. You even have a macro for it.

What many of you are not speaking of is this:

If freindly sub is humping enenmy ship and either team fires at bot the sub and
helpless ship....

#1 Someone is going to sink the helpless ship either freindly fire TK or enemey fire.
Since both ships will be harmed and the helpless ship sunk someone is going to lose
exp and penalized for TK's freindly ships.

#2 I have never allowed a CV to launch planes and then use them against my team
while I hump CVs..Same goes for TWs. I can hump a kita and block its launch path
at same time.

#3 What about the helpless ship, does this player have no say in the situation?
Maybe they dont want to be sunk, maybe they want to try and manuver to allow
teamates a shot at sub? Ive had players with great skill shoot me in my sub while
humping and miss helpless target? Practise makes perfect in that regard.

To address a few of the others comments regarding my own personal preferences is
this:

#1 I never report anyone I deal directly with the public in open debate and force
SDE to address the issues in a community setting since the issues affect many
players.

#2 I reserve the right to press my victory macro when I provide outstanding results
in game. If humping subs is so easy why dont I see other subs doing it? Its hard to
pull off and is an end game skill, if you think otherwise prove it on the battlefield.

#3 I know the rules and I get harrassed every time I hump any ship, yet its legal. If
I defend myself ingame it exaserbates the situation, possibly results in false
complaints regarding humping and/or harrassment against me when its the other
players not knowing the rules harrassing me by: Repeated Name Calling, Threats of
Ban, Threats of Tickets to Mods placed against me.

This is the issue regarding:

Un-Warranted Tickets that drain the resources of the Team NF forcing Team NF to
respond similar to one already posted on this thread. So why should I allow players
to harrass me when Im doing nothing wrong? Why should I not inform players the
what the rules are even if its something some dont like.

From what I hear most consider humping ships with subs a viable tactic, but the
moment the sub player tries to use team chat and ask freindly ships to hold off fire
while we gain air, and we watch the CV incase it launches planes we sink it with less
then full guage of air. There is answers to everyone situation but basically players
are out for themselves, they take any kill anytime that get it regardless of the size
or exp lvl of the opposing ship including BBs shooting at CLs just to be one shotted
by opposing BB. Ive had BBs steal my kills because its easier to splash damage and
sink a helpless ship then it is to attack a BB5 on enemey front lines. Ive had CVs
bomb my helpless CV verses bombing the adjacent enenmy Flagship.

It never changes, most players sink the injured ship first, everything else comes
second.

Forum Moderators are suppose to remove off topic comments and then send private
message informing player why their post was removed. Has this started to occur
yet, obviously not regarding this post.

i dont see anything wrong with humping

however, proclaiming a certain ship as 'your kill' is just arrogant, and if you get tked by
humping 'your kill' then tough luck, stop crying about it and delete your macro because
it just makes you look like a douche

The lack of collision is not abused by the subs only, but from every ship, for different
reasons.Even bbs humping subs for not getting torped, until they pop up and then...kaboom!

I was present at the incident yesterday and i confirm that #1 happened.
Both sides were upset, but i believe if you make a private talk with the mod, you can
solve this out.It wasnt serious as it sounds, at least for me.
#2 Didnt saw that,sorry.
For #3,#4,#4 just relax and ignore. No need to explode.

Simple. People need to be made aware that humping a ship is a perfectly legal tactic.

The most amusing part is when the victim spouts a torrent of abuse and insults
because I humped him. I then hit print screen, and submit the reporta. Which I make
it perfectly clear that I'm gonna do. So if he does get a ban, he knows who caused it.

It's fun to rub salt into the wounds of angry people who cannot accept the fact of
being killed/taken advantage off in ways he doesn't agree with, and piss him off
even more.

underpowered.
