  • False complaints = temporary ban for the complainer?

    05. 31. 2011 15:41

Starluck
Greetings,

I submit that any player that submits a complaint that is investigated by a
Moderator and the conclusion that the player doesnt know the rules should result in
a temporary ban to teach these people to read all the rules on game play and forum
posting.

My reasons why:

#1 I have been threatend by one game mod humping ships with my sub.

#2 I have been threated by one game mod for asserting that Fleet Team NF
players are consideredc a priority target and we enjoy sinking them.

#3 I have multiple players complain and threatend to have me banned every time
I hump a ship for air in my submarine. I am forced to defend myself and screen
capture the text chat exchange incase #1 and/or #2 happen again. Even mods
have to learn the rules. Precise/exact rules addressing every situation has not yet
been concluded and are under developement, but humping has been precisely
defined as legal any/which/way you can manage it.

#4 I notice that every time an issue regarding humping is brought up including the
use of border humping with planes and ships, the post get locked because the issue
has been settle years ago yet there is no effort or way to force every player to learn
and acknowledge all the rules resulting in false complaints which are sometimes
taken seriously by game mods.

#5 Players attempt to turn posts in to player bashing, or trying to go off topic.
There is a brand new set of rules the forum moderators must follow. These new
rules coorelated to the fact that players either dont know the rules or refuse to
follow them.

Question: Why should players whom follow all the rules undergo player bashing, in
game threats and harrasment simply because players dont know the rules. Its ok to
disagree with the rules, but not know the rules is no excuse to attack other players
regardless of which rules you disagree with this would include the follow:

BBs without Scouts
CVs without Fighters
Ships humping the borders
Aircraft humping the borders
BBs with smaller guns
Submarines humping ships without guns or HH to defend themselves

If this thread is to address an issue with TNF Mods, then you should use the correct
channel and send a Support Ticket directed to a TNF Member of your choice who can
solve your situation.
In this case, this thread should be locked so you can use a better channel to solve
your problem... a public thread won't solve an issue you have with specific players.

If this is about general complainers and how they should know the rules before
making an official complaint, then please develop on that and don't focus on the
behavior of TNF. If you focus on the general aspects of complaints, then the thread
can stay opened.

I don't want to have to lock threads just because... so please consider to which of
the above scenarios are you focusing your thread. This is nothing personal nor
defending TNF... It's just my job to direct people to the correct channels to solve their
issues.

Your response is an example of an issue already resolved.
&
What your asking is for SDE to clearly and precsisly define Harrassment...

Example researched by Team NF Mod:

#1 Sub Humps helpless ship
#2 Sub asks teamates not to shoot helpless ship while gathering Air
#2a More often then not teamate steals the kill leaving sub with no air in enemy
teritory dead meat
#2b Teamates are either to far away to steal the kill, or the honor the request and
allow teamate in sub to gather air and finish off helpless target

#3 Opposing team starts to complain that humping is illegal, harrasing player for
less the honorable tactics, ect...

#4 Submarine player can either remain silent or teach players what the rules are
while defending one's self including screen capture of text chat

#5 Opposing players file complaint submarine is humping and harrasing both at the
same time

#6 Conclusion is that submarine was humping ship legally, submarine finishes of
ship, the use of one macro asking teamates not to shoot freindly ship is acceptable,
end of conversation.

As Splid clearly stated he chooses and I agree as well that the above refrenced
topics are hottly debated in the forums with the conclusions always being the same.

Players leeching my kills forced me to create the macro. There are times that im
humping a ship for air and teammate sinks enemey ship as well as TK's me. Should
that player not be punished for TK because leeching a kill away as long as you are
active moving about the map and pursing any enemey even if you never fired a
single shot prior to stealing the kill is a legal move.

What your asking is for the mods to clearly and precisly to define the word
Harrassing. Harrassing would constatute repeated obnoxious behavior which at a
minium would have to include something other then a standard macro asking
players not to steal away my kill or inform them of the reason behind my tactics. I
dont hump for pleasure unless its in real life. I hump in the game for air and air
alone.

Could it be not that you humped a player but taunted while humping?

I will comment upon any player who is using tactics and/or setups which are detrimental to
playing the game such as:

BBs without Scouts
CVs without Fighters
Ships humping the borders
Aircraft humping the borders
BBs with smaller guns

There is free will to use whatever setups you wish, but there is also free will for me to
comment on why those setups are unsuitable :)

As for complaining about rules without knowing them, I agree. The problem is that ina lot
of situations TNF members
don't know the rules either and so they make them up as they go along... As for
humping ships in anything, it is hilarious and the tears of those who don't understand the
rules just adds to the entertainment...

"I have been threated by one game mod for asserting that Fleet Team NF
players are consideredc a priority target and we enjoy sinking them."

Lol, classic overzealous MOD :)
