  • Other Ships and weapons that could be added

I was recently doing research on some of the ships in Navy Field, mainly the American ones, and realized that there were quite a few missing
(I know you can't have all ships from WW2, but some of these are major classes).  H
Here are a few ships I think should be added(possibly as remodels of existing ships in some cases):

Allen M. Sumners class (Similar to the Gearing)
Fletcher ASW (A modified fletcher that is optimized for anti submarine warefare with stronger health against torps)
Des Moines Class Heavy Cruiser
St. Louis Class Light Cruiser
Oregon City Class Heavy Cruiser
Worcester Class Light Cruiser
Fargo Class Light Cruiser
Balao class Submarine (122 were built, the most of any American submarine class, and some remained in service into the 1970s.  This sub was better than the Gato)
Narwhal Class Submarine (Mounted a 6 in deck gun, largest ever put on an American Submarine, but it wasn't as good as the Gato or other contmeporaries)
U-Boat Type XXI(also known as the elektroboot, possibly the best submarine of WW2, but only 2 were commissioned before the end of the war and never sunk a ship)
More to come

Really what most of these are more like remodels than anything. I do think that a high level remodel of a DD or CL to make it into a specialist ship could be a good idea. The one thing that is different that I do like is the "V" class subs.

The US ship tree is already the biggest. We need to expand the KM tree a bit. Adding the Tirpitz as a remodel would be nice. It has been suggested many times without result though. I might add an Admiral Spee remodel of the Deutchland would be good too.

I agree with part two of this. Obviously the US tree is the biggest, because they had the most ships. I think that adding those two ships would be a nice touch, especially if they were late remodels and quite strong.

To be honest, I'm all for adding remodels that have same or very similar stats, just for a bit of extra variety in terms of looks or just to shift playstyle. There is already lots of variety I know but still, once you get to GB it's basically the same 2 or 3 ships you always see from every nation.

+1 to the Tirpitz suggestion as an alternate KM BB4 BTW, so you have a choice H39 or Tirpitz!!

Also, Yamato should be made with a re-mod, where the first version has 4 big T slots for trip 6.1" and 6 small ones for twin 4.7" (as built in 1941), and the remodel is the current one we have (1945 version with lots more AA)

Apparently the Tribal for the Royal Navy was remodeled during the war, modified by their crew usually. A couple of new weapons I think would be good: For the British, instead of hedgehogs, use the squid anti-submarine mortar or have it as an alternative.

I agree with adding the Tirpitz and Graf Spee, with them being similar to the remodel done for the Alaska (Guam) in how they could be implemented. Some of these ships could also be premium ships.

I haven't seen any premium submarines or destroyers by the way.

One thing I do have a problem with is someone saying the Baltimore is better than the Des Moines. Are you kidding? The Des Moines would eat a Balti for breakfast. The Baltimore is a good ship, currently the best American heavy cruiser in my opinion, but better than the Des Moines class? Give me a break. The Des Moines is the best American heavy cruiser in the history of American Heavy Cruisers. Also, the Oregon City would be a remodel of Baltimore, with better firing arcs for anti-air and a different shape for its superstructure and configuration for the funnel.

The Narwhal was not as good as the Gato by the way, it had some advantages, but in terms of performance it was inferior. If they had 7 Subs in the tree instead of 6, here is the order I would put them in: O Class, S Class, Barracuda, Cachalot, Narwhal, Gato, and Balao class sub. Perhaps have the Balao as a remodel for the Gato, since it is sort of an upgraded Gato.

The Fargo would be a remodel of the Cleveland class. Oh, and one thing about the Des Moines class is that it had autoloading 8in guns and was essentially an upsized Baltimore. The Worcester was officially a Light Cruiser, but it was bigger than a Baltimore. It had 12 6 in Dual Purpose guns in two-gun turrets (I always wondered why NF had a dual 6 in DP gun turret that no ship in the game used in real life, this could be why) (this is fewer 6 in guns than the Cleveland and Brooklyn, but these 6in guns were DP and the ship also has a total of 13 3-in guns) Makes for a good AA cruiser I think.

I agree with changing the T placements for the Yamato.

There was a carrier for the British called the Ruler Class during WW2. It was similar to the American Independence class, but slightly bigger and with 2 4 in guns. I know it would add another carrier to the British, but maybe instead of having to choose one carrier for each carrier progression, you could have a choice.

Also, I think the Bogue should have 2 5in gun slots.

am going to make a few generla coments to above post:

SS tree is not yet finished, so expect a SS6 AND a PSS to be added at some point.

DD MP is the 'prem' DD, yes its a neut.

Tirpitz is in game already it is the unique KM rental ship. adding it as a remod would i think devalue it for the fleets that own and keep a harbour long enough to get to the unique ship.
